Sibsagar Girls College Campus Facilities - Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

Hostel: The college owns two big storied RCC Building which provide seats to the deserving  outstation students. Accommodation in college hostel is provided to scholars purely on the basis of merit. Seats are limited and desirous students shall have to submit separate application in prescribed form (available in the college office) along with the application for college admission.

Library: The college has been provided an Air Conditioned Library with lots of Books, Journals, CD Roms & E-Resources etc.

Conference Hall: The college has an Air Conditioned Conference Hall with all required equipments.

Limited numbers of seats are also available to the ST/SC students in the annex ST Block of the College Hostel. Meritorious students coming from distance localities will get preference in allotment of hostel seats.

The college hostel located at a distance of about 100 meters from the main college campus is a well protected and expansive home that accommodates around 170 students. It has ideal and peaceful surrounding conductive to academic pursuits.

College Canteen: The College has a neat and tidy canteen which provides tea and snakes for teachers and students at rrates much cheaper than the resturents outside the campus.

The management of the canteen need help and cooperation from all concerned to offer satisfactory catering services. Lately a coffee corner has also been started in the main campus.

Science Laboratories : The college has two storeyed spacious building with well equipped individual departmental laboratories, for all the science subjects. Time to time updating supply of sufficient instruments and other requirements have made the laboratories comparable to any modern laboratories of the region. Ongoing research project undertaken by the teachers with the UGC’s support is the clear evidence of vibrancy of these laboratories.

N.C.C : The N.C.C r. Girls Wings has contributed much to instill into the students community a strong sense of discipline and service to the nation. The N.C.C. wing of the college can ct reasonably take pride in the fact that many a time a number of cadets from this college has represented the state in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.

Scholarship and Free Studentship : The college offers the following scholarships and free studentships to poor but          meritorious and needy students.

1.Late Nilima Baruah memorial award : In memory of the founder teacher and Vice Principal of this college Late Nilima Baruah, a scholarship is awarded every year by the members of her family to the meritorious student on the basis of her performances in the H.S.L.C Examination to prosecute her undergraduate studies in this very college. The value of the scholarship is 100/ per month.

2.From the year 2001 scholarship have been awarded to 3 meritorious  but poor students every year prosecuting undergraduate courses in this college from the interest accuring on the Student welfare Fund. At present the value of scholarship is 100/- per month per student.

3. Late Suresh Phukan Memorial Award : The  Department of Education of the college has sponsored an award in memory of the former Head of the Education department Late Suresh Phukan. The award shall be offered to the candidate securing highest percentage of marks in Education (Major) in the TDC final examination. The Value of the award is Rs. 1000/-p.a.

4.Late Parashuram Baruah Memorial Award : Cash award to meritorious students showing excellence in final examinations are awarded from the interest accured on the donated amount of rupees One Lac by Mrs Khiroda Kumari Baruah in memory of her late husband Parashuram Baruah.

Further, the college authorities also provide free scholarship to meritorious but poor deserving students on certification of proper authorities.

Xerox & internet: The college has provided Xerox and internet facilities for the students at cheapest cost than other outsiders. At present there are 4 four digital Xerox machine in the college. These are set up in the difference branches of the college. Broadband internet connectivity is also available in the Library and office.

Generator: There are three Generator set in the college providing uninterrupted power supply.

Purified Drinking Water : The college has set up Aquaguard Water purifier system within the college campus.

Computer Facility : At least one computer set is provided to all the departments of the college. Faculty members can record their day to day academic activities with the help of these computers.
