Overall: I studied Diploma in Electrical Engineering at Silli Polytechnic. I am fully satisfied with the quality of education provided by the college. Thanks to the faculty members I was able to become the person I am today. I also got campus placement with the help of the placement cell of this college. I received a package of Rs 2.89 LPA from Eastern Estate which is a recruiter that visits the college almost every year.
Placement: For Diploma in EE course the highest package in 2023 was Rs 3.29 per annum. 12 companies visited our college for placements. I was able to land a job for Rs 2.89 LPA in Eastern Estate.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at Silli Polytechnic College is new and is maintained by the cleaning staff of the college. Our college has a garden in front of the main entrance and a separate playground for outdoor games. There is also a hostel, modern classrooms, a library, a medical facility, a canteen, and other facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members in the Diploma in EE were very dedicated towards their work as they were never late for a class. They were more than my teachers as they helped me in my ups and downs. From the day I got admission to the day I got placed, I received help from my teachers.
Hostel: I got a seat at the Silli Polytechnic College hostel. The fees was around Rs 15,000 per semester. There was also a mess facility at the hostel which costed me around Rs 2,900 per month. The hostel has a playground, recreational room, wifi, laundry service, etc
Overall: My diploma exam scores and JCECEB cutoff secured my admission in Mechanical Engineering. Out of all the diploma colleges that existed in Ranchi, Silli Polytechnic offered the polytechnic program at a reasonable cost. I made the decision based on my financial strength, however, the opinion can be different for others. The fee was Rs 42,741 annually.
Placement: Placements were not up to my satisfaction, especially the salary package offered. Around 12 companies visited the campus and made around 180 offers, however the salary range was Rs 1.44 LPA - 3.29 LPA. However, I took an internship in my final year which was for 3-months in Schneider.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure was functional, but some aspects needed attention. While the buildings were structurally sound, they displayed signs of wear and tear. Additionally, the lab equipment needed occasional repair. On the bright side, the campus offered fantastic sports facilities and a playground, which delighted the athlete in me.
Faculty: Another reason that made me join Silli is the reputation of its faculty members. My seniors described them as professionals with warm smiles and helping hands! There were around 35 faculty each having a postgraduate degree.
Hostel: The hostel offered a good atmosphere and the fee was Rs 15,000. There is a common room, common dining area and a mini-library. We were given three full-time meals and snacks in the evening. The mess charge was Rs 2,900.
Overall: I have studied Diploma in Computer Science Engineering at Silli Polytechnic. I selected this college because of its industry-oriented curriculum and modern CSE labs. Admission at CSE was difficult here as many students wanted to get admission to the CSE branch. However, I got admission through the vacant seats available after JCECEB counselling. My overall experience of studying at Silli Polytechnic was wonderful and with the help of the placement cell, I got a good start to my career.
Placement: The CSE placement at Silli Polytechnic is very good. The placement cell is very helpful and is headed by Abhinaba Biswas sir who is very efficient with the placement process. During the final year, we were mentored for placement by Sumit Sir and Sayan Sir. I got selected during the VAP placement drive at the package of Rs 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at Silli Polytechnic is decent. The building looks a little old and needs renovation in some areas. The library is big and has daily newspapers available. However, the inventory of books in the library needs to be updated. On the contrary, the CSE labs at Silli Polytechnic are updated with all the latest software like CRO M30 MHz, LBO-9C and more.
Faculty: Faculty at Silli Polytechnic is good. Pawan Sir and Ria Ma'am are among the best teachers of CSE department. Ria Ma'am elaborated the Data Structure and Programming concept very well through her experience and friendly nature.
Hostel: The hostel facility at Silli Polytechnic is good. I have not found issues in the hostel facilities either. However, there were some notorious students in our hostels who used to damage the property. Chattopadhyay sir took strong action against them and a penalty was charged from them. The hostel also has no ragging policy and strict actions are taken against guilty students.
Overall: I am a Mechanical Engineering pass out student from Silli Polytechnic and in my opinion, it is a good institute for diploma programmes. The college offers a quality education at very affordable fees. During our time, the Diploma in ME annual fees was Rs 38,000. I come from an OBC background hence I was also eligible for the scholarship at the college. The scholarship here is continued only if the student has 75% attendance and no backlogs in the semester. Overall, the infrastructure is good but placement shall be improved.
Placement: Placements at Silli Polytechnic are average and require management's attention. Not many renowned companies visited the campus in our final year. Some companies that visited the campus were hiring in bulk with a salary package of Rs 18,000 per month. However, the placement cell is very helpful and they trained us through grooming and personality development.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure is good at Silli Polytechnic. The college has a big playground and sports are taken seriously here. During my time, Sanjeev Sir was the PT teacher and he was a basketball champion of his time. The college offers labs for ME and the labs have equipment like an ammeter, alternator, orifice meter and more. The college has big classrooms and the canteen offers delicious food.
Faculty: Faculty at Silli Polytechnic is very helpful. Teachers like Ashok Sir and Amit Sir help students even after classes are over. The semester exams here are a bit difficult. Around 70% of students were qualified without backlogs in our batch in the first semester.
Overall: CSE is the most popular branch of engineering so I decided to pursue diploma in this from Silli Polytechnic. Even though, all my friends couldn't, but I got a decent job opportunity after completing my education from here. The college offers various facilities so that the education of students gets facilitated. Apart from this, I enjoyed extra curricular activities as well. All in all, a great experience indeed.
Placement: Recruiters like Hitachi, Samadhaan, Wipro, etc. participate in the placement drive conducted by the centralised placement cell of the college. I too participated in on-campus placement drive, but got a good job opportunity from outside the drive. The training provided by the placement cell was actually proved supportive. It conducts various other activities such as mock interviews, workshops, seminars, pre-placement drives and more. The placement percentage is almost 80% of the college.
Faculty: The faculty members are all alumni from reputed colleges throughout the world. They have extensive knowledge and experience to teach and groom the students. Most of them have PhD degrees and have experience in their respective streams. But, there is only one problem. They don't support all-around growth. I was an active member of co-curricular activities, but they never supported me in that direction.
Overall: I come from a humble middle-class background. So I decided to pursue my diploma degree from Silli Polytechnic College. And I am glad that I did. The annual fees that I paid for the course is Rs 42,000 (approx). Even though the fees was minimal, the quality of education was not compromised at the institution. The campus of the college has all the necessary facilities for the benefit of the students.
Placement: I got a placement offer of Rs 3.5 Lakhs per annum from the on-campus placement drive. The placement percentage of our batch was 80%. The centralised placement cell helped us a lot and the members of the placement cell were all very diligent. They organised various activities to provide placement training throughout the year. My main reason of choosing this college was placement record of the college only.
Infrastructure: The campus of the college has various infrastructural facilities such as a full-fledged canteen, spacious classrooms, sports facilities, transportation facility, etc. The library has all the important books, magazines and other resources that are helpful for the students. Digital resources are also available to the candidates.Being a sports person, I can say that the sports division of the college is also very active.
Faculty: The faculty members were alright in my opinion. They taught us well, there is no question in that. But they were not very supportive to us. When we asked them about our problems, they did helped. But apart from this, they did not helped us to move toward our careers. They were all about bookish knowledge, but never supported us to do anything outside study.
Overall: I have selected a Diploma in Computer science Engineering in Silly Polytechnic to pursue my course. The core reason of selecting this course was definitely the fees and my extremely good faculty members. This college trains us to get placed in good companies and top MNCs. Currently I am working in an organisation with a total package of Rs. 5.5 Lpa.
Placement: Since I got a good placement with a 5.5LPA in a good organisation my opinion for Silly Polytechnic College placement cell is that I was given the opportunity to bring my best in my batch which gave me confidence and brought me motivation. Mnay of my friends got placed too in top companies
Faculty: Silli Polytechnic has some experienced teaching proffesionals. Each faculty in the department has different approach. The behaviour of our teachers was so kind and helpful. Pankaj Sir was my favourite for the whole time. He helped us through our assignments and lab works.
Hostel: Though i am nearby resident of Silli Polytechnic, my friends stayed in campus. The hostel is nice and clean and hygeine is being maintained. The hostel rooms are spacious as well. They all has good campanies to study in night and had a good time while staying there,
Overall: Silli Polytechnic College is an AICTE approved college which offers Diploma in engineering. Our college is best for the civil branch. The teachers in our branch were all experienced individuals. The course fees of this college was also low. I remember the fee was around Rs 42,000 per year.
Placement: A total of 252 students of the Diploma programme attended the campus placements in 2023. The highest package offered was Rs 3.29 LPA. I got placed with a package of Rs 3 LPA. All the credit goes to the Silli Polytechnic College placement cell.
Faculty: Our teachers were former professionals so their teaching style was quite practical. We were provided with real-life situations and they helped us find solutions to that. Our director, Bishnu Chattopadhyay sir was also very helpful.
Hostel: Our hostel was good but not that great. The cleaning staff was almost always late and the mess food was barely eatable. From the price point of view, the monthly cost was Rs 2,900 for mess per month. At this cost, I expected to get better food. The hostel room was triple sharing and there was a capacity of 300 students.
Overall: Best semi government college in Ranchi all teacher are very good and class are near and clean . Class also going regularly and all faculty members are also nice and behave in good manner
Overall: I am a CSE passout student from Silli Polytechnic and in my opinion, it was a good decision to choose this college for CSE. For admission here, i have enrolled through JCECEB counselling, which is a common counselling for polytechnic admissions. In our time, 35% of seats were free seats. But for the CSE course, they were filled in no time. The college conducts interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical and handwritten assignments from time to time. Overall, the institute is good for students who are willing to get quality education at affordable fees.
Placement: I found the placement cell of Silli Polytechnic very helpful. The placement cell is a centralised cell with experienced faculties with good relations with corporates. During our time, companies like VAP, AVO, Tintites and Jusco visited the campus. I was selected in VAP at a package of 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at Silli Polytechnic is good for CSE. There were 2 big operational computer labs with advanced software in our time. The web-oriented methodologies are applied in Silli Polytechnic for the betterment of students. Along with the library, the college also has IEEE journals and book bank facilities for the students.
Faculty: Silli Polytechnic has some very good full-time teachers. There is enough faculty strength at the college so that studies are not hampered in any situation. The institute has an Industry-Institute partnership with several companies where seminars, visits, and internships are offered.
Hostel: Hostel at Silli Polytechnic is nice. There is a 24*7 medical service available for the hostel students. The mess food, however, can be improved. I also found the variety is missing and we end up eating similar food twice a week. However, the facilities like room, washroom, water, and electricity are decent.
