The SNDT Women's University was established in 1916. In a wide range of disciplines, the university offers a large number of undergraduate, postgraduate, PG Diploma, PhD, certificate, and distance education programmes. The university's division for distance learning was started in 1979. The primary goal of the ‘Centre for Distance Education (CDE)’ was to support online learning in higher education.
In order to empower female students, SNDT Women's University Puneoffers a variety of bachelor's, master's, PG Diploma, and certificate programmes. Students may use the SNDT University CDE to submit an online application for any distance learning programme. For some undergraduate and graduate programmes, students must take the University Entrance Test (UET) in addition to meeting the course-specific eligibility requirements. A valid score of centralized Management Academic Test (CMAT) conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and any other procedure prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Maharashtra.
