The campus of Sudharsan Engineering College stretches out to 25 acres sitting right on the NH 336 between Pudukkottai and Trichy. With a vast frontage from the main road the academic buildings are set in calm seclusion enabling intellectual disposition to the campus academia. The tastefully planted avenue trees, the well-groomed lawns and decorously spaced concrete edifices naturally lend meaning to the compelling epithet 'conducive' for the environment in the expanse.
College life becomes highly memorable when you live with your colleagues in the college hostel. It is not only the joys of shared youth but also the comforts and convenience of a well-cared accommodation inside the campus that makes the hostel life all the more cherishable.
At Sudharsan, we realize this fact and take extreme care in providing a comfortable and conducive hostel environment. Separate blocks of hostels for boys and girls are available inside the campus with provisions for every personal need. All the rooms are bath-attached and are shared. In all, there are 320 beds in boys' hostel and 240 in girls hostel. Food is prepared in hygienically maintained steam-based kitchen and is served decorously in neatly laid separate mess halls for boys and girls. Varieties of tasty and wholesome food items are cooked and served as per inmates' consensus.
A wide choice of recreation and relaxation outlets like Television, Reading room, and indoor games are made available for serious and casual pursuits.
A hobby is an activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation, typically done during one's leisure time. A hobby horse is a wooden or wickerwork toy made to be ridden just like a real horse (which was sometimes called a " Hobby "). From this came the expression "to ride one's hobby-horse", meaning "to follow a favorite pastime", and in turn, hobby in the modern sense of recreation. The Hobby Club in our college was inaugurated on 06.08.2009 by our Principal Dr. M. Radhakrishnan and was presided by Mrs. Bhuvaneswari of “Mulari Kalaikoodam” and followed by an art exhibition. Various activities such as drawing, rangoli, craft work, pot painting etc. were conducted under the guidance of the Coordinator of the Hobby Club Ms. P. Shalline Sujana Mary , AP/ECE. The aim of this club is to encourage the students to develop their extra curricular skills .
In today's global context, language plays an important role and therefore the intention of the club of the college is to make students realize the dire need to learn language by making use of the modern technologies.
The programme is to create awareness among students to understand their communicative abilities and put them in to practice. The club functions as per the academic ENGLISH CLUB planner, once in a month and the members have been selected to play various roles in organizing the activities of the club. The students are encouraged to be a part of this club to improve their communicative ability.
The inaugural function was held on the 18th of July, the resource person was a renowned scholar Dr. S. Papu Benjamin Elango, of St. Joseph's College, Trichy.

Maths club was started in 2009 and has been progressing very well as an intellectual stimulator to the students of Sudharsan Engineering College. The club conducts events like quiz competitions, paper presentations and inspiring lectures by wizards of Mathematics. Students are encouraged to participate in inter-collegiate mathematical quiz contests and are given special coaching for such events. Thus, Maths club has been contributing to demystifying and popularizing Mathematics among the Sudharsan Engineering College students.
Red Ribbon Club is a voluntary on-campus intervention programme for students in higher educational systems in Tamil Nadu initiated and supported by the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society TANSACS) and is implemented through multi-sectored collaboration involving National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Movement. India has large number of people infected with HIV/AIDS. Young people mostly in the age group of (15 to 24) are more vulnerable to HIV Infection objectives of Red Ribbon Club are The RRC can help meet the demand for the blood by organizing blood donation camps linking all the students with the Government Hospitals and Regional Blood Transfusion centers in the district.
The Consumer Club at Sudharsan Engineering College was started by Dr.M.Radhakrishnan, Principal SEC on 14/08/2009. It is formed with the aim of educating the students to act as healthy consumers by making them aware of their rights and redress mechanisms and to act as beacons for the society. The training will be provided to the students belonging to SEC and other colleges by the resource persons from this field to know their consumer rights, where to approach and how to get them.
National Service Scheme popularly known as NSS was launched in the Gandhiji Centenary year, 1969, and is aimed at developing students personality through community service. The overall objective of the National Service is educational. This objective is attained through the service to the community.
NSS is a permanent youth programme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and funded by Government of TamilNadu and Government of India in the ratio 5:7.
The activities of NSS mainly focused on Technology transfer to rural mass and help the rural youth for creating job opportunity by conducting different types of training programmes
The overall objective of NSS is Personality Development through Community Service. The motto or watchword of the NSS is 'Not Me But You'. This reflects selfless service and appreciation of the other person's point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual which is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole.
The symbol of the NSS is 'Rath' wheel of the Konark Sun temple situated in Orissa. These giant wheels of the Sun temple portray the cycle of creation, preservation and release, and signify the movement in life across time and space. The design of the symbol, a simplified form of the Sun Chariot wheel primarily depicts movement. The wheel signifies the progressive cycle of life; it stands for continuity as well as change and implies the continuous striving of NSS for social transformation and upliftment.
A quiz club has been started in our college. The club will be functioning to enthuse our students to acquire skills to participate in quiz competitions. This is a very much competitive world. The students are expected to possess wide knowledge in all the fields from science to politics and so on.
This club will offer a platform for students to get exposed to knowledge in various arenas and become competent enough to face the challenging world. It is planned to conduct many quiz competition by experts in the days to come. Students will be encouraged to participate in quiz competitions conducted by other institutions for which the club will give all necessary support.
