About UPES Dehradun
UPES University was established in 2003 under the UPES Act passed by the State Assembly of Uttarakhand. It is a multidisciplinary university renowned for its industry-aligned curriculum and leading-edge specializations. It is recognised by University Grants Commission and is NIRF-ranked by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is Graded 'A' by NAAC and awarded QS 5-Star rating for Employability, Academic Development and Facilities.
Students interested in Management, Engineering, and Science can take courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels through UPES University's nine schools of study. With its seven schools, the UPES Dehradun courses are provided in more than 20 industry-aligned and specialized UG and PG programmes. UPESMET, UPESPAT, ULSAT, and UPESEAT are some of the entrance exams accepted by UPES Dehradun. The main curriculum, with 20 specialities, is the UPES B.Tech. JEE Main or UPESEAT tests administered by the university are used to select students for the B.Tech programme.
Located in the serene locales of the Himalayan foothills, the university boasts of sprawling 44 acres campus and state-of-the-art infrastructure. The faculty at UPES Dehradun comprises eminent Chevening, Commonwealth, and Fulbright Nehru scholars along with international faculty from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. UPES Dehradun has established unique partnerships with industry pioneers such as IBM, Microsoft, Xebia, Tata Cisco, Tata Power, Infosys, Qlik, HPCL, Surana & Surana International Attorneys and Wockhardt alongwith academic collaborations with universities across the world such as Berkeley Global, University of Law, United Kingdom, Polytech Nantes, and ECE Paris.As per the 2023 placement record of UPES Dehradun, more than 1900 students were placed. The university offers 33 courses at the UG and PG levels. The B.Tech course is the flagship course offered by the university and the admissions to B.Tech are based on exams like UPESEAT (University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test) and JEE Mains. Library: UPES College Dehradun has three main library buildings: Bidholi Campus, School of Law, and School of Business. The library is networked and can be accessed through the institute’s network. It has over 1.9 Lakhs printed books, over 2.1 Lakhs e-books, and full texts of over 50000 e-journals.
Laboratories: UPES has many labs that supply firsthand experience to students. These include specific domain-specific labs, a Chemistry lab, Design Labs, Laboratory for prototyping/3D modeling, and a computing center.

UPES Dehradun Scholarships
All students who have applied for admission for UPES courses and have taken the UPES entrance examination shall be eligible for consideration for this scholarship. However, this Scholarship shall be awarded only to those students who have scholarship complied with the below-defined Scholarship Criteria for the first semester and subsequent renewal, if applicable. There are several types of UPES Dehradun scholarships that a student at UPES can get:
1. Academic Scholarships
- The scholarship will be awarded to up to 10% of the Top performers on UPES Entrance Exam. UPES reserves the right to conduct multiple rounds of entrance examination and the merit list of each round will be prepared separately. However, UPES's sole discretion, is to decide consideration of next in line of the top 10 for said Scholarship, in case the top performer does not accept the scholarship for any reason.
- The total number of scholarships available is up to 1900 (out of this 50% will be reserved for girls i.e., 950 scholarships and the the balance is for general category including boys and girls both).
- The scholarship will be awarded in the range of 20% to 100% on tuition fees for 1st semester only. Renewal of scholarships for the rest of the semesters is at the sole discretion of UPES.
2. 33% fee concession for Bonafide Uttarakhand students*
In case you are a Uttarakhand Bonafide resident, you are eligible for a 33% concession on tuition fee subject to fulfillment of the following conditions and submission of supporting documents:
- ‘Sthai Niwas Praman Patra’ certificate, along with the admission form.
- Income certificate proving that your gross family income is not more than Rs.12 lakh per annum, along with a copy of the last income tax return filed
- With the objective of access to quality education to all UPES is to provide scholarships to student who comes from the economically weaker section but with high aspiration, commitment, and caliber.
- the Total number of 50 seats only for the regular program be on a merit basis.
- Upper age limit for UG and PG programs- 20 and 25 years respectively (On the date of Registration).
3. Sports Scholarships
To develop a sports culture within the University, UPES introduces a new scheme of providing scholarships for talented sports people.
