KEMPEGOWDA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HOSPITAL (KIMS) and Research Center is a 1000 bed tertiary care hospital with specialities and super specialities. KIMS Hospital provides quality healthcare to people in and around Bangalore. The various departments in the hospital include Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, OBG, Psychiatry, Neurology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Anesthesiology, and Skin & STD. the Department of Pharmacy Practice is situated in the second floor in the main KIMS Building. It involves itself in various activities relating to "Pharmaceutical Care" The main activities include Patient Counselling, Provision of Drug & Devices Information, Reporting and Monitoring of ADRs, (Adverse Drug Reactions), Poison information, Detection of Drug Interactions etc. It also aims to promote Rational Drug Therapy and minimize treatment related costs where necessary. the department has a well established Drug Information center with books and journals pertaining to various medical and allied health related subjects. The department has subscription to databases like IDIS, Micromedex etc. The Library at VIPS caters to a wide variety of pharmacy and allied health related subjects. The total number of books exceeds 4000. The college also subscribes to various journals both national & International. Our library has tie ups with on line libraries like H elenet. An Online Catalog system which holds books relating to various clinical and paraclinical subjects ranging over 4000, inclusive of journals both national and international. It also has an Online Catalog System (like IDIS, Micromedex, DELNET) through which information of any kind is easily accessible. Student Accessibility every student is entitled to borrow 2-3 books/week. Transport facilities are available very near to the college. The college has its own bus service to take students to the KIMS Hospital for any academic related activities. The auditorium KUVEMPU KALAKSHETRA is a 1000-seater hall where various cultural activities and conferences are held. 
For students who come from outside Bangalore and the country, the campus provides hostel facilities to both boys and girls. The hostel is adequately equipped with facilities like TV room, Sports Room etc. The rooms available are double seaters adequately furnished and spacious. The hostel also provides mess facility, which suits the taste of all kinds.
