About Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya
Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya (VM) Burdwan was founded on the eve of Swami Vivekananda's Birthday in the year 1963. This initiative was taken by the District Magistrate of Burdwan, Mr K.P.S. Menon, Chairman of Zilla Parishad, Mr Narayan Chowdhury, and other citizens of Burdwan. Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya fees are reasonable and affordable for students to pay.
Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya has significantly grown in infrastructure and education since its inception. It now provides hostel facilities and is also equipped with an attentive placement cell. Furthermore, it is set in peaceful surroundings away from the noise of the town and is ideal for pursuing higher studies in the major arts and science subjects.
Recently, three buildings have been constructed to accommodate the increasing strengths of students. In addition, various postgraduate and degree honours courses have been introduced. It fulfils the needs of students and provides them with a healthy, disciplined, and meaningful learning environment.
