BHMS Syllabus defines the course structure of the Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery. It is an undergraduate medical degree program which focuses on homeopathic medical systems. Candidates who graduate with this degree course are qualified to practice as a doctor of homeopathy and are also eligible to use the prefix doctor, in short Dr. Homeopathy is an alternative medical method where the practice of caring for patients by boosting their overall body’s innate healing power. The core focus of this BHMS course program is to rejuvenate the human body through its own healing power capacity by strengthening the body’s natural healing power.

BHMS Syllabus Important Facts

  • BHMS Syllabus Comprises 8-Semester Program: The 4 year BHMS course duration is divided into 8 semesters, which means each year consists of 2 semesters, and each semester includes important subjects which are crucial for understanding homeopathy. The BHMS syllabus works as a guideline for the bachelor’s degree program that covers the fundamentals of the Homeopathic Medical System.
  • Mandatory Internship Program: The BHMS syllabus includes a mandatory internship program for 1 year which comes after completing the degree course. Like previously mentioned, it is a mandatory program and it is clearly stated that without completing this 1 year internship students will not be granted their degree. This internship is crucial for the students in understanding the practical implications and to experience a proper training in the field of Homeopathy Medicine and Surgery.
  • Objectives: The BHMS syllabus is rich with insights and useful information related to the fundamentals of an alternate medical system which becomes useful for the students who wish to be a part of the Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery field.

BHMS Course Structure

Let us first understand the BHMS course structure before getting into the BHMS syllabus and subjects in depth. The BHMS degree course shall consist of an in-depth curriculum and syllabus prescribed in these regulations spread over a period of four years, including a one-year mandatory internship after passing the final examination. After completing the final BHMS examination, all candidates must do a compulsory 12 months internship as prescribed by Indian institutions. The degree will be awarded to such individuals upon satisfactory completion of the internship and the recommendation of the Principal of the Homoeopathic college.
