B.Com E-Commerce Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should have completed and cleared their class 12 board examination from a recognised board of education such as CBSE, ICSE or equivalent State Board.

  • They must have secured a minimum aggregate score of 50% or more in the qualifying examination.

  • Applicants from all streams are eligible for the programmes, however, candidates with a background in Information Technology or Computer Applications would stand a better chance at admissions

B.Com E-Commerce Admission Process

In India, admissions to B.Com E-Commerce will be based on different admission policies adopted by the Universities and Colleges offering the course. There are two major methods of offering admissions, i.e. Entrance-Based or Merit-Based. Depending on the admission policy of each individual college, candidates will be asked to adhere to different parameters.

Merit-Based Admissions

  • Candidates will be called for the selection process based on their past academic record.

  • According to the individual admission policy of each college, each shortlisted candidate may be called for a Personal Interview and/or Group Discussion

  • Based on the performance of each candidate in the mentioned parameters and more, i.e. past academic record, personal Interview and/or group discussion.

Or 

  • Based on merit, universities may also release merit-lists, which may subsequently be followed by a counselling process.

  • During the counselling process, candidates will be allocated seats based on their academic performance, chosen course and college along with the vacancy in the respective course and college.

Entrance-Based Admissions

  • Candidates will be asked to appear for the respective University-level entrance exam or equivalent exam on the stipulated date and time.

  • Post examination, the university may release a merit-list containing the name of all candidates and their respective scores/ranks.

  • Depending on their scores, applicants will be shortlisted for further selection processes, which may include Personal Interview and/or Group Discussion.

  • Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of their overall performance in the entrance exam, past academic record, personal interview and/or group discussion.

Or

  • Universities may also conduct counselling sessions after releasing the requisite merit lists.

  • Based on the ranks and scores obtained in the merit lists, candidates will be asked to appear for choice-filling sessions and choose the course and college.

  • Depending on the scores/ranks of the candidate, preferred course & college and the vacancy of seats, candidates will be offered admissions.

In both cases, finalisation of admissions will be made once the candidates accept the choices that have been offered and the specified tuition fees have been paid.
