About M.Des in Communication Design

M.Des Communication Design is a two-year-long postgraduate program that is structured by keeping in mind the ever-evolving demands of the ever-changing world. The course helps in building a strong foundation in aesthetics, innovation, visual language, design thinking and storytelling. The M.Des Communication Design curriculum is curated to offer an opportunity to the students to explore core courses in language, skill development, design principles, social studies etc.

M.Des Communication Design challenges students to experience the transformative ability of design as well as think critically. Students are also encouraged to create viable design solutions by researching independently. The course provides interrogation of textual and visual research, fundamental questions regarding social and personal responsibilities and questions relating to the role of the designer in society.   • Candidates must have cleared a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university in the fields of Design, Science, Technology, Engineering, Humanities, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Social Sciences, Performing Arts etc.

M.Des in Communication Design admission process is different for each college/ institute. Some grant admission directly through merit while others offer admission through an entrance exam. Given below is a brief explanation of both of the admission criteria. 

Merit-based: A few colleges accept the score obtained in the qualifying exam to offer admission to the candidates. The higher the marks in the qualifying exam the better are their chances of getting shortlisted for M.Des Communication Design admission.

Dear Student,

Entrance exam ke baad IIT Kanpur ki M.Des ki fees kam nahi hogi. However, institute aapko scholarship de sakta hai agar aap eligible hain uske liye to. IIT Kanpur se Master of Design course karne ke liye aapko CEED ya GATE exam dena hoga and bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (4-year programme) or Design or Architecture bhi hona chhaiye. In case aap B Tech graduate hain from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B Tech, to aapko GATE/CEED dene ki koi zaroorat ahi hai. IIT Kanpur M.Des total fees is INR 94940. Aur information ke liye aap IIT Kanpur ki official website visit kar sakte hain. Best of luck!
