Entrance Exams for MS ENT

Every year, entrance exams are held to help secure admission into postgraduate degree programs. The most popular entrance exams are:

INI CET: This exam is conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Students from all over India can sit for this test as it is held on a national level. This is an online, computer-based test that students have to attend from the designated exam centers. The entire test continues for 3 hours. AIIMS conducts this exam twice every year. The entire syllabus of MBBS is covered in this entrance exam. There are 200 questions asked in the exam and all of them are multiple-choice based. After passing this exam, students can seek admission to any of the AIIMS branches present in India.

PGIMER: Each year, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research conducts this entrance test twice for providing admission into their postgraduate degree programs in medical studies. Papers are set in English medium. All the pre-clinical, post-clinical, and core clinical papers are included in this exam. All the questions are multiple-choice based. The paper-setters refer to the entire MBBS syllabus while framing the questions. Key areas covered in the curriculum are gynecology, pediatrics, radiology, neurology, internal medicine, ENT ophthalmology, psychiatry, etc. For each incorrect answer, there is a negative marking. 250 questions are asked to the students and they need to answer the same within 3 hours.

NEET-PG: The National Board of Examination (NBE) conducts this national examination every year for admission to postgraduate degree courses. Previously, 300 questions used to be asked but now the number of questions has been reduced to 200 questions. All the questions are multiple-choice based. Like other national-level post-graduate medical entrance tests, NEET-PG also covers the entire MBBS syllabus. It is an online, computer-based test.

Admission Process for MS ENT
