Nalanda University is organising an online short team course called “Consciousness studies: Perspectives of modern science and ancient Indian wisdom.” The last date to apply is November 12, 2022.

Nalanda University is a postgraduate research institution with an international reputation funded by the East Asia Summit countries. The UGC (University Grant Commission) has approved the university for its courses. The Nalanda University courses include PG, doctoral, and PG diploma programs in a few specialisations. The university offers courses in science, arts, and management streams.

Nalanda University is the world's oldest university but was recently reopened in November 2010. The university was granted its new existence by an act of the Indian Parliament (the Nalanda University Act 2010). Nalanda University admission to various courses is merit-based and entrance exam-based. Nalanda University admissions is done online mode only. After applying for admission, students must pass the university's entrance exam or pass any national-level exam accepted by the university. 

Nalanda University direct admission can be granted if the student is eligible for merit-based admission. Every year, the Nalanda University admission process starts in the month of May. The Application form must be filled out and submitted along with the Statement of Purpose (SoP), self-introductory note, and the documents mentioned to admissions2022@nalandauniv.edu.in.

Nagaland University Campus Facilities & Infrastructure

The University presently functions from its New Campus, Rajgir. The sprawling 455.19 acres of land was gifted by the State Government of Bihar in 2011 to Nalanda University. The campus combines state-of-the-art technologies with the planning principles of the ancient Nalanda University to create a carbon-neutral and zero-waste campus.

Library

The Nalanda University Library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday to Sunday). It is a fully air-conditioned library with Wi-Fi connectivity. It is fully automated with KOHA ILM software and has student locker facilities. Though nascent, it is evolving at a great pace and is envisioned to become the hub of student activity in the future. Library facilities are intended to help students in their academics and research work. (The facilities are primarily for the use of those holding University IDs.) All visitors to the Nalanda University Library must comply with the University Library rules and regulations specified in the Library Rule Book.

Cafeteria

Nalanda University offers students a Cafeteria situated in the main building. It provides healthy and sumptuous food. The cafeteria is open on weekdays between 9 am to 7 pm. Students can enjoy meals and quick bites available at the cafeteria.

Laboratory

Nalanda University has a well-equipped Laboratory for its students in the School of Ecology and Environment Studies to help them easily perform their research work. The Laboratory is designed with high-class modern tools and types of equipment. 

Medical Facilities

To serve the requirements of the Nalanda community, the university operates a five-bed primary health care centre/mini-hospital on campus. Students, teachers, and employees of the University have access to the services of the Health Care Centre around the clock. In addition to regular visits from specialists, the Health Care Center has the benefit of resident doctors and nurses. Important medical services are provided around the clock, including X-rays, pathology, pharmacy, and ambulance.

Sports and Games

Nalanda University has arranged recreation, sports, and games at various Residence Halls. Students are provided with better sports facilities to enhance their overall growth.

Campus Dining Facilities

The dining area in the Residence Hall ensures a balanced meal for its students, keeping in mind their varied cultural backgrounds and food habits. Eating together promotes a friendly environment among students.

International Convention Centre

The Rajgir International Convention Centre, an attractive building featuring auditoriums of various sizes, lecture rooms, an art gallery, a movie theatre, and a canteen, is used by the university in addition to its own facilities. The university residence hall is next to this amenity.

On-Campus Shuttle

A shuttle service is provided to all Nalanda University community members from the Interim Campus to the Residence Halls daily from 8:40 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.

All students have permission to bring bicycles if they wish to cycle from the Residence Halls to the Interim Campus and also to generally move around Rajgir.

Weekend Shuttle Service to Patna

Students can comfortably travel to and fro from Campus to Patna and Gaya on the first and third Saturdays of every month, respectively, with Nalanda University Shuttle Service.
