Utkal University, also known as UU, is a Public State University, established in 1943. Located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Utkal University campus spans over 399 acres. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an A+ grade and a CGPA of 3.26/4.00. Utkal University is ranked 42nd under the State Public University category and in the 101-150 band under the University category by NIRF 2024. It is the oldest university in Odisha and the 17th oldest in India, with 381 affiliated colleges.

Utkal University offers over 93 Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate, and Doctorate programs in streams such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Law, Engineering, and Medicine. BSc, BA, MBA, and MCA are some of the popular courses. Admissions at Utkal University are primarily entrance-based for PG courses and merit-based for UG courses. The university accepts Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) for PG courses, OJEE for BPharma/MBA/MCA/MTech, and CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT for MBA (Agribusiness).
