BIT Sindri admissions are currently ongoing for various courses. Candidates can apply for online admissions until July 20, 2024. For offline applications, candidates have to submit them before July 27, 2024. The state merit list will be released for BIT Sindri admissions on July 2. 

BIT Sindri Admission Dates 2024

BIT Sindri offers four-years, full-time BTech programme in 10 different specializations - Computer Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production Engineering, and Information Technology. The duration of the programme is four-years.

For BTech admissions, candidates may apply online through the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) official website. JCECEB entrance exam is followed by a round of counselling. Eligible candidates can then visit the official website of BIT Sindri and apply for BTech admissions. Eligible candidates must fill the JCECE 2024 counselling registration form in order to participate in the seat allotment procedure at BIT Sindri. 

BTech admissions are granted based on the merit of the applicant in the JCECEB exam. After the candidates' documents have been confirmed, seats will be assigned to them. At the time of counselling process, candidates, who have been granted BTech admissions, must pay Rs. 2,000 as the allotment fee in addition to the admission fee.

• Candidates must log into the official website.
• Then, select "New Registration" from the drop-down menu.
• Candidate's Name, Father's Name, Gender, Category, Date of Birth, E-mail ID, Mobile number, and Landline with STD code must all be filled out in the registration form.
• After completion of these steps, candidates will be given a registration number and a password to use during the login procedure.

Step 2: JCECE Application Process 2024

• Enter your registration number and date of birth on the official website. On the screen, the application form will appear. 
• Add personal information, applicant’s name, Father's name, Mother's name, Date of Birth, Gender, Parent Domicile, Category, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Servicemen Quota, Residential Eligibility, Annual Family Income, Nationality, Aadhaar Number
• Select exam city and course options (BTech).
• Add educational information (qualification, stream, year of graduation, and grades)
• Include contact information (address, email address, location, and phone number)
• Now, the information entered in the JCECE 2024 application form will appear on the screen. Candidates must read the completed application form, sign the declaration, and click "Final Submit" to complete the process. Admissions to all BTech programmes at BIT Sindri are made only through the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE), which is administered by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Admissions to all B.Tech programs are made through Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) conducted by JCECE Board constituted by Govt of Jharkhand. Lateral entry to diploma holders in engineering and technology is made in the 3rd semester through competitive examination conducted separately for them. The number of seats through lateral entry in all branches are 10% of the normal seats

BIT Sindri offers 2-years, full-time MTech programme in 5 different specializations - Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgical engineering and Chemical Engineering. The Institute provides a total of 10 MTech courses - Heat Power Engineering, Machine Design, Production Technology, Power System, Control System, Physical Metallurgy, Process Metallurgy, Plant Design, Soil Mechanics and Foundations Engineering, and Structural Design, over the course of two years, separated into four semesters.

Eligibility Criteria for MTech Admissions 

The minimum eligibility criteria for MTech admissions at BIT Sindri is BE/ BTech degree with relevant subjects from a recognized university with at least 60 percent aggregate. For reserved category candidates, the minimum aggregate requirement is 55%. In addition, candidates must have a valid GATE score for BIT Sindri MTech admissions 2024.

For MTech admissions, BIT Sindri conducts a written exam followed by an interview for candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria and have a valid GATE Scorecard.

BIT Sindri MTech admissions are based on entrance exam in the form of a written test and an interview are conducted by the college. Candidates having valid GATE scores, however, are not required to take the test.

The application fee for the MTech program is Rs. 2500 and it can paid online (via internet banking and debit/credit cards) or via demand draft. 

Selection Process for MTech Admissions at BIT Sindri

Selection for MTech admissions at BIT Sindri is done via a written test conduced by the college. The written test is followed by an interview. However, those with valid GATE scores are excused from taking the written exam and are called directly for interviews. 

Counselling Process for MTech Admissions at BIT Sindri 

The counselling process for MTech admissions at BIT Sindri is simple. Shortlisted candidates, with valid GATE score, are invited for counselling and upon successful completion of the counselling process, they are granted admissions to the MTech programme at BIT Sindri. In addition, candidates who have been shortlisted but do not have a valid GATE score must attend an interview, and their results are published on the Institute's website. And such students are invited for counselling, only if they clear the cut-off determined by the institute. 

Students who have qualified for the GATE must bring their original GATE score card to counselling on the designated date. Non-GATE qualified students must attend an interview for the allotment of seats that remain open after GATE qualified candidates are admitted, as per the schedule appended separately. 

On the stipulated date, all such candidates (GATE qualified and non-GATE qualified) must present to attend the counselling process. They must also submit a non-refundable payment of Rs. 1000.00 in the form of a bank draught in order to participate in the counselling process. SBI/BOI/Canara Bank must issue a bank draught in the name of "BIT STUDENT FUND, BIT SINDRI" payable at the "BIT, Sindri" branch. If and only if seats are available, the remaining GATE and non-GATE candidates are invited to attend the counseling process.

Typically, counselling process for MTech admissions at BIT Sindri takes place at the Lecture Hall complex located in the institute’s campus.

Candidates with a valid GATE score with B.E. /B.Tech or equivalent in respective discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent C.G.P.A ( in case of SC /ST the minimum marks of 55% or equivalent C.G.P.A) from recognized University/Institute, are eligible to apply in prescribed format.

Candidates possessing above qualifications and having valid GATE score will be entitled for monthly stipend as per the A.I.C.T.E. / Government approved norms. If seats are not filled up with GATE qualified candidates for M.Tech program, other candidates may also be considered without monthly stipend.
