Doaba College Jalandhar shares a great history since its establishment on January 1, 1941. The college followed Arya Samajand. The founders were the Spartan Freedom Fighters. The founders of the college wanted to promote the study of Sanskrit, the philosophy of Maharishi Dayanand, the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, and Vedic Dharma. The mission of Doaba College or D.C. was to provide education to the backward class and financially weaker sections.
Today Doaba College offers a multi-faculty program of Postgraduate and Undergraduate courses in Biotechnology, Mass Media & Communication, Commerce & Business Management, Computer Science & I.T., Economics, Education, and Tourism & Hotel Management. Recently, the college has also started offering to add on courses which are sponsored by U.G.C. and include Certificate/ Diploma/ Advanced Diploma courses in Insurance and Risk Management, Banking law and Practice, Computer Animation and Graphics, Computer Maintenance, Internet & Web Designing, and Journalism & Electronic Media.

Doaba College Admission process is conducted both online and offline. The college grants admission based on Merit specifically. Below are the selection criteria for courses offered at DC:
The Doaba College application form for the relevant courses is available online at the official website. Students are prescribed to refer to the website from time to time to know the updates of Admission Dates.The college offers limited seats for its courses, and the entire selection process is based on a Merit and first cum first serve basis. The students who are in the final year of their required degree are also eligible to fill out the application form. The desired candidate can go on the Admissions Tab and can either take a print of the E-admission form or complete the entire application process online.
Students seeking admission to Doaba College shall comply with the Application dates. Late admission will be granted in rare cases only on the authorization of the Principal or Vice-Chancellor subject to availability of the seats.

The candidates can apply for the course online. After using and paying the applicable fees for the study, the student will have to submit all the relevant documents related to the specific course. After verifying the eligibility criteria and the documents submitted by the student, the Institute provides admission to the students.
The candidates can visit the Institute campus and fill out the hard copy of the application form received from there. The student can then make the payment for the application via card or cash. Then the students will have to submit the relevant documents physically to the admission section of the Institute. Once the documents are verified, and the eligibility criteria are met, the students are given admission to the desired course.
Doaba College grants admission on a merit basis. Only Limited seats are available for the courses offered at Doaba College.
The entire application process needs to be completed offline. Doaba College eligibility criteria for taking admissions in an Undergraduate course is that the candidate should have secured 50%/ 40% (for certain classes) in 10+2 examinations from a recognized Board/ University.
For Postgraduate courses, the interested candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50%/ 45% marks from a recognized Board/ University.
The counseling process is done after the candidates are shortlisted. The counseling process is done in the Doaba College Jalandhar campus ground itself.
