Gurucharan College (popularly known as GC College) is a government college, located in Silchar in the state of Assam in India. The college was established on July 15, 1935. GC college is affiliated to Assam University (Central University) and accredited with “A” Grade by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).
Currently, around 4000 students are enrolled in the Gurucharan college courses in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. For the HS course, the curriculum and examination are conducted according to the rules and regulations of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). The other three years of degree programmes, conducted under the new semester system, are taught as per the syllabus and exam rules framed by Assam University Silchar.
