-Answered on Dec-03-2024Yes, candidates from another state can apply to Jadavpur University but there are certain conditions that need to be fulfilled by the candidates they need to be eligible for reserved seats and 90% of the seats secured by general candidates have to be the residents of West Bengal. Also, students transferring from other universities must obtain a migration certificate within four months of admission, which is necessary for full registration and exam participation. Hostel facilities are available for out-of-state students and those from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. To qualify for BE or BTech courses, applicants must have completed Class 12 with at least 60% aggregate, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

-Answered on Nov-15-2024Dear Student,
Unfortunately, diploma students from Bihar or any other state with 10th marks are not eligible for WBJEE exam. This is because the minimum WBJEE 2025 eligibility criteria requires that all students (from West Bengal or other states) must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects to get admission to B.Tech degree.
We hope this information was helpful to you. Good luck!

You can take the WB JECA exam with a UG degree in design if the module you are applying for accepts a bachelor's degree in any stream with 60% marks. WB JECA has different eligibility criteria for different modules. To take the WB JECA exam, it's crucial to understand the eligibility criteria set by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. Generally, candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject at the graduate or 10+2 level. Since your undergraduate degree is in design, you'd be eligible to take the WB JECA exam if your coursework included Mathematics, either during your UG program or at the 10+2 level. Before applying for the exam, makes sure to go through the details eligibility criteria available on the official website. You can also check the eligibility requirements provided above on the page to understand whether you are eligible to take the WB JECA exam.
Thank you.
