JEST 2025 registrations will commence in the first week of January 2025. JEST 2025 exam will be administered for three hours, from 10 AM - 1 PM. If you pass the JEST 2025 exam you will be eligible for admission following the counselling process. Applicants must note that appearing in JEST 2025 won't guarantee PhD admission. Students must separately apply for PhD at their preferred institute.

Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) is conducted to provide admission to Ph.D./Integrated PhD programmes in Physics, Neuroscience and Computation Biology, Theoretical Computer Science, and other fields in any one of the participating institutes that accept JEST 2025 scores. The validity of the JEST 2025 score is one year and candidates can take this entrance exam multiple times.

The JEST 2025 exam will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram for the academic year 2025-26 on February 23. Aspirants seeking admission for a PhD / Integrated PhD Programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience, or Computational Biology in one of the participating institutes can appear for the JEST 2025 examination.

JEST 2025 question paper is allowed to be taken out of the examination center as JEST is a paper-pencil based test (PBT) and the question paper released by the authorities on the day of the JEST 2025 is accessible for further analysis.
