IIT Bombay Admissions 2024 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

IIT Bombay admission to BDes is based on UCEED scores. UCEED 2024 results are now out. Students can check their result on ‘uceed.iitb.ac.in’. CEED 2024 results are now live. Students can check their results by visiting the official website at https://portal.iitb.ac.in/CRP/?appid=17. BTech aspirants have to first qualify JEE Main 2024 and then JEE Advanced. The entrance examination for B.Tech admissions at IIT Bombay is JEE Advanced which will be held on May 26, while its application form will start from April 21. Candidates have to visit the official website jeeadv.ac.in to fill the application form. They can fill the application form till April 30, the deadline for the application form.    

Apart from UG engineering admissions through JEE Advanced, BDes courses at IIT Bombay are offered based on UCEED scores, MDes through CEED, M.Tech through GATE scores, and MSc through IIT JAM scores. IIT Bombay MBA admissions are offered based on CAT scores. The college also conducts a personal interview for MBA admission. 

IIT Bombay offers admission to UG, PG, doctoral and dual degree programmes.

As per the IIT Bombay admission criteria, only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria determined by the college can apply for admission. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay eligibility criteria is different for each course. 

IIT Bombay Courses and Eligibility Criteria

The college offers admission to B.Tech, BS and B.Tech + M.Tech courses based on JEE Advanced scores of candidates. IIT Bombay B.Tech admissions are offered in numerous specialisations such as civil engineering, computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering etc.

• Firstly candidates must appear for JEE Main and quality for JEE Advanced. 
• Qualified candidates need to sit for JEE Advanced and obtain a good score. 
• Once the JEE Advanced result is out, register for Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. 
•  Fill college choices and course choices in preference order, select IIT Bombay as the first choice. 
• Based on JEE Advanced score, choice filled, seat availability and category of candidates, colleges are allotted to them.
• Candidates to whom IIT Bombay is allotted need to visit the campus. 
• Secure Indian Institute of Technology Bombay admission by depositing programme fees and verifying required documents.

IITB offers a three years Bachelor of Design (B.Des) course. The eligibility criteria for IIT Bombay B.Des admission is Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board. Further, candidates must qualify the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED). 

IIT Bombay B.Des Selection Process 2024

• Eligible candidates need to appear for UCEED and obtain a valid score.
• Next, apply for IIT Bombay admission in B.Des course. 
• Fill the application form and pay the IIT Bombay application fee. 
• Based on UCEED scores, candidates are shortlisted for admission. 
• Shortlisted candidates are required to submit documents and pay IITB B.Des fees to confirm admission.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a two years full-time course offered at the postgraduate level. Candidates must qualify the Common Admission Test (CAT) for Indian Institute of Technology Bombay MBA admission. The institute selection process for the MBA course is done in two stages. 

IIT Bombay Selection Process 2024: Stage One

In the first stage, candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and applied for IIT Bombay MBA admission are shortlisted for a personal interview. The institute calculates a composite score of candidates for shortlisting for round two. Further, candidates must meet IIT Bombay CAT cutoff in order to be shortlisted for a personal interview.

Academic Profile

The college gives rating to candidates based on their score in Class 12 (A) and undergraduate (B). IIT Bombay academic score comprises Class 12 and bachelor degree rating score of candidates.

As per IIT Bombay MBA admission process, candidates are given different scores based on their stream in graduation. Below mentioned is stream-wise bifurcation of graduation rating provided to candidates.

Gender Diversity

• 10% weightage will be awarded to female candidates

Post Graduate or Professionals

• 3% score is awarded to candidates with a postgraduate degree (ME/ M.Tech / M.Com / MCA/ M.Pharma etc.)
• 5% score is awarded to professional candidates ( (CA, CS, CFA, ICWA & FRM).

Once candidates are rated based on their CAT score, academic record, gender diversity and work experience they are shortlisted for the IIT Bombay MBA admission process second stage. 

IIT Bombay MBA Selection Process 2024: Stage Two

Candidates who are shortlisted for the second round i.e. personal interview (PI) need to appear for PI on the specified date provided by IIT Bombay. After a personal interview, the IITB final merit list is prepared for MBA admission.

Candidates profile is further bifurcated into following categories:

• Graduation:  6%
• Work experience:  6%
• Extra-curricular Activities:  3%

Graduation and work experience scores are provided using the same formula used in Indian Institute of Technology Bombay MBA selection process stage one. For extracurricular activities, candidates with national level achievements are offered 3% and applicants with state level achievement are offered 2%. 

Applicants whose names are in IIT Bombay MBA merit list need to confirm seats. They are required to pay IIT Mumbai MBA fees and verify required documents to confirm their admission. 

The Executive MBA course is offered by IIT Bombay in association with Washington University. Candidates must have a minimum of seven years of work experience, that should include five years of managerial experience. 

IIT Mumbai Executive MBA Selection Criteria 2024

• Meet the eligibility criteria and fill the IIT Bombay Executive MBA application form.
• Along with the application form, candidates must submit the required documents. 
• The institute then selects candidates for a personal interview.
• Once the personal interviews are done, the final merit list is prepared.  
• Pay IIT Mumbai Executive MBA fees and verify documents to complete the admission process.
