Karunya University Campus Facilities - Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences is spread over 700 acres.  The institute has taken initiatives towards creating a green campus in the areas of green computing and waste management. The desktop infrastructure is virtualized through VMware virtualization technology.

The institute began with 180 students and now the institution has rapidly grown to 8491 students and 452 faculty representing 18 academic departments. KITS Coimbatore infrastructure is world class. The campus consists of gallery classrooms with projector facility, well-equipped laboratories, workshops and computer labs where new age systems are maintained by the IT professionals. The Central library is well stocked with information resources in the form of CD-ROM, online databases, e-journals, e-books, audio video cassettes, books, journals, project reports, etc. As per the requirements from various departments, e-journals are subscribed by the central library. 

The college consists of a Computer Technology Centre (CTC), a centralized computing facility. It provides world-class computing, network and educational technology support for the academic and research community of the college. The academic computing resources include IBM PureFlex System, Blade servers, Rack servers, Workstations, and Personal Computers.

The institute has a paper recycling unit in which eco-friendly files and folders produced using 150-200 kg of paper waste are generated each day. The college provides all the basic amenities including ATM, guest house, cafeteria, bakery, medical facility and many more.

Karunya University aims at training professionals of high standard with moral caliber.  The rules and regulations are framed so as to train them for reaching the goals for which the institution was started.  It aims at ensuring harmonious, friendly living among  students of various states inculcating self discipline. The  hostels should serve as a training ground for a responsible, successful and useful life through development of the body, mind and soul. 
                 The Twelve hostels of Karunya University are under the administrative control of the three Chief Wardens. They are assisted by two Joint Chief Wardens in administrative responsibilities . The Finance officer of the University looks after the financial responsibilities. 
                 Each Hostel Block is being managed by a Warden (Welfare & Discipline), who are drawn from the  teaching faculty of the University.  
              There are four messes catering to students in different hostels. Each mess is administered by a Warden (Mess), who is also a faculty member of the University.

Each student is provided with a cot, a table and a chair in their respective rooms. Each room is provided with a ceiling fan.

Reading Room

Each hostel has a reading room where news papers, periodicals and popular magazines are made available. 

Television Room

Each hostel has a separate Television room with cable connection.

Internet & Computer Centre facilities

Round the clock online Internet facilities are extended to the rooms of the students. Apart from this each hostel unit has a computer center with internet facilities to meet the need of the students till midnight.

Counseling Hall Counseling and Prayer cells are available and active in each hostel to facilitate counseling the students and conduct prayers. Students of all faiths can avail of these services.     

Telephone

Telephone calls receiving/landing facilities are made available in each hostel. BSNL prepaid card system, ISD/STD dialing facilities are made available in Gents and Ladies Hostels.          

Hostel Staff

Hostel manager,  Block Supervisors, Attenders and telephone Attenders are available to take care of the welfare of the students. Similarly Catering Managers, Catering Supervisors, Mess Supervisors available to take care of the food requirements of the students.

24 hrs telephone operators available in the reception

Three telephone operators are available at EPABX TATA exchange center in the Hostel office.

24 hrs standby Generator facility of capacity 500 – KVA  

Two generators of capacity 500-KVA/110 KVA have been installed separately in the hostel premises, so that 24 hours  electricity supply is available for the hostels and messes.

Recreation Hall with Satellite Cable Television

Satellite cable television   is available at all the recreation halls.

 Siruvani Dam Water in each hostel

Clean Water supply system with Siruvani drinking water connected to Water  Purifiers made available inside each hostel as also inside the dining halls/messes . 

Tiled Toilets/Bathrooms

Each floor in the Hostel has well maintained tiled toilets and bathrooms with both Indian and a few western closets.

Karunya Institute of Technology has ample facilities for sports and indoor/outdoor games. We have the outdoor games facilities in each hostel separately. As for indoor facilities, we have an indoor hall  of 750 sq.m( 7500 sq.ft.)  for  Badminton, Table Tennis and Carrom. The  Gym  is equipped with all modern equipments. With the availability of these facilities our college organized TIES’2000 and won the overall championship.
