Every year the institute admits 115 students under its B.Tech program based upon the JEE Main entrance score. Based on candidates performance in JEE entrance exam candidates will be shortlisted for the B.Tech admission. Candidates who wish to be admitted in the B.Tech program must meet the minimum eligibility criteria specified for the program and have appeared in the JEE Entrance Exam. Manipur Institute of Technology B.E Eligibility Criteria 2020

• Applicants should have passed with at least 45 per cent (40 per cent in the case of SC / ST candidates) of cumulative marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry in a single sitting without any grace marks in the higher secondary examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur or any other examination recognised by Manipur University or its equivalent.

• Applicants who have completed a Diploma Course in Engineering conducted by Manipur University or any Technical Education Board approved by Manipur University in the First Division or in an equivalent degree with marks of at least 60% in the aggregate where the Division is not awarded in the respective stream are eligible for Lateral Entry into the Third Semester

• In the case of candidates in the SC / ST category, the minimum percentage of marks secured during the Diploma Level examination shall be at least 55% marks or its equivalent examination.

Candidates need to complete the institute application process for the admissions in 2020. The first step for the candidates is to register themselves at the Manipur Institute of Technology official website. At the time of filling up the application form, the candidates are also required to upload various documents like identity proof, education mark sheet, photograph, signature etc. Once all the application form is filled, the candidate will need to click on “Submit” to submit the application form.

• Once the candidate has registered, they will have to verify the email id and mobile number.

• After verification, the candidate can start filling up the application form.

• After filling the application form, the candidate need to pay the application fee by using different payment methods such as Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ e-Challan

• After the successful submission of the application fee, the applicant can get the payment receipt

• The candidate is advised to take the printout of the payment receipt for future reference.

• For Unreserved Category the application fee is Rs. 500/- and for reserved Category the fee is Rs. 300/- which has to be paid in cash or Demand Draft.

Manipur Institute of Technology B.E Selection Process 2020

The admission for the B.E. course shall be done on the basis of candidates scores in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - Main conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The cut-off mark or rank for JEE -Main will be decided by the Institute for admission of the B.E program. The seats for the B.E program will be filled on the basis of candidates marks in JEE (Mains). And the vacant seats arising out of non-availability of candidates from JEE (Main) shall be filled up through an Admission Test conducted by the institute. 

As for the candidate who has passed in the Diploma Course in Engineering, the admission shall be done on the basis of merit at the Diploma level and the merit of the candidates will be judged through a competitive test or Personal Interview in which a nominee from the institute must be present at the time of selection.

Counselling and Selection:-

Candidates will be called for counselling on the basis of the Merit List prepared strictly on the basis of the JEE Main mark/ranking. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear at MIT, Takyelpat, Imphal for the counselling process. Selection will be made subject to the availability of seats and category-wise in different branches. The candidates should come prepared with their preference for admission to different branches of engineering

After the counselling, the list of approved candidates for the B.E. admission will be displayed on the institute Notice Board and at the official website of Manipur Institute of Technology.

The Original Documents to be produced at the time of counselling:-

• Mark Sheet of qualifying examination 

• HSLC Certificate/Admit Card as Proof of Age 

• Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended

• In case of SC/ST, PwD and OBC candidates, the Original Cast/Tribe, PwD and OBC Certificates issued by Competent Authority

• Study discontinuation/Study gap Certificate from the Competent Authority (Head of recognized Institute where the candidate may be pursuing studies or Officer in charge of nearest Police Station where the candidate resides for not pursuing studies)

• JEE (Main) Score Card

Reservations of seats:

• One seat in each course is reserved for the candidates who have represented the state at the national/ international competition of sports or other curricular activities. In MIT, 3% of seats are reserved for PWD candidates in each course.

• In each discipline, a supernumerary seat will be given to each of the Defense Personnel and Kashmiri Migrants.

The candidate should have passed 10+2 with PCM Recognized Board.
