After CLAT results 2024 are out, candidates receive an SMS or an email regarding participation in CLAT 2024 counselling. So, there are a few permutations and combinations based on which the Consortium of NLUs assign seats to candidates, such as:
Since choice filling is done before candidates know their score, it becomes hard for them to control what seat they will get in the first round of counselling. Seats are filled as per the preference of students with higher CLAT scores. For instance, if a candidate has a rank that is between 1-50, there is a high chance that he/she will get a seat at the NLU that he/she has selected as their first preference.
Now, if candidates have been allotted a seat at NALSAR Hyderabad, they will have three options - Float, Freeze or Exit. If their choice is to obtain admission at NALSAR, then they should freeze the seat. Otherwise, they can select the float option in case they wish to participate in the next rounds of CLAT 2024 counselling. In the last round of NALSAR 2024 counselling, one vacant seat was available in both CLAT UG and PG merit lists. Finally, those candidates who wish to withdraw from CLAT counselling for NALSAR Hyderabad admission can choose the exit option. It is important to note that if any candidate opts for the exit option after selecting the freeze/float option, the previously assigned seat will be transferred to the next eligible candidate in the list. The fee paid at the time of freezing the seat will not be refunded.
