At Nayagarh Autonomous College the students are endowed with modern infra and convenient amenities that make their life 'go easy' in college hours, alongside make learning more interesting. Some of the facilities include well ventilated classrooms, recreational areas, hostel facility for boys and girls, indoor and outdoor games, stocked library, seamless internet connectivity, medical facilities etc.
There is one Men’s hostels and two women’s hostel which provide accommodation to the students of this college as detailed below :

Students who desire to reside in the Hostels, will have to mention it clearly in the application form under the appropriate head without mentioning the name of any hostel. No student can claim, as a matter of right, to stay in a particular hostel or in a particular room.
The selection for admission to hostel is made on the basis of merit and good conduct, after admission into the college.

In case of withdrawal, an application to that effect shall be made by the parents / guardians.
The superintendents will allot seats to those students who bring receipts of admission to hostel from the college office.
. Only parents/guardians are allowed to leave their wards in the hostel and fill up their visitors forms available in the Hostel office.
The superintendent will maintain and admission register of the boarders stating their bio-data and antecedents during their stay in the hostel. The superintendent will inform the principal, his parents, local guardian and the HOD in case of the boarder’s misconduct.
The Principal is the final authority in respect of admission of boarders in the hostel and reserves the right to change any rules as he deems fit.
Each boarder will be provided with a cot, a table and a chair.
All the boarders in a room will enjoy a ceiling Fan.
Boarders are required to make good use of the furniture which is their individual responsibility.
Any wilful damage of the hostel furniture and electric installations by a boarder will make him/her liable for heavy penalties.
. The superintendent is required to conduct an annual check of the hostel furniture and other articles, and a report of the stock position has to be submitted to the principal before closer of the college for summer vacation.
The superintendent should also submit to the principal a report on the repair-work to be undertaken during summer vacation.
The boarders have to arrange their own electric bulbs.
Two NCC wings, one for the boys and the other for the girls with a capacity of 60 to 50 cadets respectively are functioning with remarkable achievements in Nayagarh Autonomous College, Nayagarh.
In all the civilized societies of today, NCC is being regarded as an indispensable property in respect of Unity and discipline the urgent need of the hour. Now it is the largest youth organisation of the world.
Aims :
To develop a sense of unity and discipline, corporate life, courage, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and self-less service among the youth to make them ideal citizens.
To build a nationwide human resource pool of a highly motivated and organised youth mass to provide ideal leadership in all walks of life, always ready to serve the nation.
Enrolment :-
Enrolment to both the wings of the NCC commences in the month of September every year. Only the bonafide students of +2 (1st year) and +3 (1st year, 2nd year) classes who have a minimum two years of study to pursue in the college are eligible for enrolment. However, joining NCC is not compulsory.
The selection of cadets for enrolment in NCC is based on the following eligibility criteria :-
Must be between 16 (sixteen) to 22 (twenty two) years of age.
Preferable minimum height for SD (Boy Cadets is 5’7” and weight 50 kgs and for S.W. 5’4”
Must not have knocking knee and flatfoot.
Must be physically tough and self-reliant. Physically fitness is to be checked by the following yard stick :
01 (One) km run in 05 (five) minutes.
Minimum 15 (fifteen) Bend-stretches.
Minimum 10 (ten) pull-ups.
Must be good at drill.
Must not have been convicted by a criminal court.
Must be medically fit and free from any disease. A medical certificate from a medical officer to the effect that he/she is free from heart and kidney disease and have good eyesight, is to be produced by the candidate.
Besides the above criteria, the following factors are to be taken into consideration.
The Motto of the National Service Scheme is “NOT ME BUT YOU”. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of other man’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines the fact that welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent upon the welfare of the society as a whole. And as such, the NSS demonstrates its motto of ‘development of the personality of the students through community service’ in its day to -day programmes. It arouses social consciousness among the students in respect of constructive social activities, national integration, community living, eradication, of illiteracy, improvement of hygienic condition. First Aid, appreciation, of the dignity of labour, propagation of family planning, small savings, tree plantation and afforestation, combating calamities like famine, flood, drought and earth quake and last but not he least, mobilising available resources for the development of the Community as a whole.
There are four NSS units (Three Boys’ and one Girls’ unit) operating in the college, each comprising 50 volunteers, and are placed under the active guidance of four officers.
To work with / for people.
To engage in creative and constructive social activities.
To know one self and the community as well.
To put his/her scholarship to practical use in mitigating atleast some of the problems.
To gain skill in the exercise of democratic leadership.
To gain skill in programme development to enable him/her for self-employment.
To bridge the gap between the educated and the uneducated masses and
To promote the will to serve the weaker section of the community
The Club shall consist of the members of the staff and students with the Principal as Ex-Officio President.
The Executive Committee of the Nayagarh College Athletic Club shall consist of :

Eight to eleven members of the teaching and nonteaching staff shall be nominated by the Principal and one of them shall be nominated as Vice-President.
The Physical Education Teacher.
The Secretary to be elected in the manner given in Rule 3 (e).
One class representative from each of the classes.
Two women students to be elected by the women students of the College.
Captains of Football, Hockey, Cricket, Kabaddi, Volley ball and such other organised out door games as might exist in the College.
One or two more students shall be nominated by the Principal if the Principal thinks that in the interest of the Athletic Club this nomination is necessary.
Note : In the absence of any Captain, the Vice-Captain shall attend the meeting of the Council in his place and shall enjoy all the privileges of the Captain for that time.
Election Rules :
The election shall be held by secret ballot or when the Principal decides, by show of hands.
The Vice-President, the Physical Education Teacher and the Secretary shall be responsible for holding the election for Captains and Vice-Captains of different games.
All Class Representatives shall be elected at such a time and in such a manner as the Principal may determine. Captains and Vice-Captains of different branches of the Athletic Club shall be elected from among those students who have played in the inter College team of the College in any particular branch or otherwise from among the players of that particular branch.
The Secretary and the Assistant Secretary shall be elected from the students directly by the Students at the time of the students’. Union elections or at the time fixed by the Principal. His nominees from teaching staff, the Physical Training Instructor, the class representatives, the Captains and Vice-Captains shall elect the Secretary and the Assistant Secretary.
The Secretary or the Assistant Secretary shall not be captain for any game. If any student is elected both as Secretary and Captain, he shall resign from one of the two offices. Any student from +3 Degree classes can contest for the Post of Secretary whereas any student from +3 1st year and 2nd year Classes can contest for the post of Assistant Secretary.
The Athletic Club will elect Captains, Vice-Captains or Secretary in case there are vacancies owing to one of them leaving the College during a session.
Infrastructure: It has a administrative office,a examination cell,a central library having various types of books, separate common rooms for boys and girls, sports facilities, different youth wings like NSS,NCC,YRC etc,a botanical garden, separate departments for different subjects, different streams like arts, science and commerce. Canteen facility, atm, post office, IGNOU study centre, OSOU study centre etc also available.
Hostel: There are one boys hostel and three girls hostel. Jadumani Chhatravas as boys hostel and Malatidevi Chhatrinivas, second girls hostel and UGC ladies hostel etc. Jadumani Chhatravas - 75 seats Malatidevi Chhatrinivas - 75 seats Second girls hostel - 75 seats UGC ladies hostel - 150 seats There is also reservation available for sc and st students that is approximately 100 seats available.
