The NEET Passing Marks 2025 out of 720 are expected to be 162 for General and 161 to 127 for reserved category students. The NEET qualifying marks are likely to vary this year due to an increased number of medical seats in the recently established medical colleges.
NEET 2025 Passing Marks

NEET Passing Marks 2025 will likely range from 720 to 162 for the General category and 161 to 127 for SC/ST/OBC category students. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the category-wise NEET passing marks out of 720 after the exam result is announced by June 14, 2025. The passing marks in NEET are expected to be lower this year due to the challenging Physics section in the NEET question paper. However, no official notification hinting at the same has been released yet.

The NEET Passing Marks 2025 will be determined based on various factors, including the overall exam statistics, students’ performance, difficulty level of the exam, the seat matrix of participating colleges, etc. Moreover, an increase in the number of medical seats this year may also impact the expected NEET passing marks for students. The NEET 2025 Exam was conducted on May 4, 2025.

Will NEET Passing Marks 2025 be Higher than Last Year?

No, the NEET Pass Marks are likely to be lower this year due to the difficulty level of the Physics section in the NEET exam. As reported by the majority of the NEET appearing students, the Physics section of the NEET question paper was the toughest among all, and comprised a challenging set of questions this year. Therefore, to neutralize the level of competition in the entrance exam, the NTA is expected to lower the NEET passing marks 2025 in comparison to last year.

Moreover, the NEET Pass Marks depend on a variety of factors that include the total number of test takers and the difficulty level of the exam. The NEET 2024 Pass Marks were higher because the total number of candidates who took the exam was higher, and the difficulty level of the test was lower when compared to 2023. In 2025, the total number of registrations has slightly dropped. If the difficulty level of the exam is lower than 2024 and the number of test takers is high, the cutoff may increase in 2025 too.

It's unlikely you'll get a seat in a veterinary course in Karnataka with a score of 125 out of 180 in KCET 2025, especially as a General Merit (GM) candidate without an agricultural quota. Veterinary seats in Karnataka are highly competitive, and a score around 125 is generally not sufficient for admission. You would need a significantly higher score, typically around 130 to 140 or higher, to have a chance.
