Thiagarajar College of Engineering has an impressive placement record. In the academic year 2017-18, more than 50 companies visited the campus for recruitment in the final placement process. The placement cell helps students in various ways by conducting training programs such as personality development, group discussion, seminars, mock test, and personal interviews. The placement cell also organises various programs which are conducted by experienced training partners and these programs help students in the placement process.

The institute is mainly known for its engineering placements. Last year, around 75% of the students were placed in some of the top companies. Some of the top recruiters for the campus placement process are HCL, Cognizant Technology Solution, Honeywell, Infosys, Nokia, TVS, Microsoft, TATA Consultancy Services, etc. and some students received internship offers from these multinational companies.
