What is the Difference Between MBA in HR and Master in HR?

If an individual is absolutely certain he/she wants to pursue human resource management as a career, a master’s in human resource management would be ideal for him/her because it prepares students for human resource management careers with an intense HR-focused education.

On the other hand, MBA in HR provides students with a comprehensive business education with a curriculum covering everything from marketing to accounting. An MBA in HR enables students to choose HR electives, but the education is comprehensive, not HR-focused. If one is interested in HR but is also interested in business in general, an MBA with a human resource management specialization may cater to his/her needs.
The tuition for an MBA in HR programme will be much more expensive. However, MBA in HR graduates will be qualified for senior management positions and can expect to earn a competitive salary - even a six-figure income.

The curriculum is where there are the biggest differences between an MBA program with a specialization in HRM and a master's program in HRM. A master's in HRM program focuses nearly entirely on helping students gain knowledge and abilities in organizational behavior analysis and human resource management. Students enrolled in an MBA in HRM program complete a variety of business courses covering topics important to general business managers, like finance and accounting, as well as many focus courses on topics pertaining to human resource management.
