North Eastern Hill University Admission 2025 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

NEHU Admission: Admission to different UG and PG courses at North-Eastern Hill University requires a CUET score. NTA has released the CUET dates for NEHU admissions. The exam will be conducted from May 21 to 31, 2023. The CUET registration 2024 is open from February 9, 2023 to March 12, 2023.Candidates must visit the official NTA website cuet.samarth.ac.in. to complete the application process within the given deadline. The NEHU B.Tech admissions will be based on JEE. For M.Tech, having a GATE score is mandatory. There is a common entrance test for UG and PG admission at all central universities in India. The test is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the form of Common University Entrance Test or CUET. CUET has a single window for all students to apply for the entrance test online and seek admission in central universities across the country including North-Eastern Hill University. 

Applying for the CUET 2023 for NEHU university admission involves the following steps:

• Visit the CUET official website cuet.samarth.ac.in.
• Click on New Registration and enter name, email address and mobile number to sign up.
• Now using the same credentials, login into your account.
• The application form will appear on the screen.
• Fill in all the details and upload photograph and signature. Students are also asked about the program applied for and choice of University (up to 3).
• Pay the CUET fees and save the confirmation form for future reference.

Candidates applying for NEHU admission into UG and PG programmes must first qualify for the CUET conducted by the NTA. After clearing the CUET, the rest of the NEHU admission process begins. In brief, the UG and PG admission at NEHU includes the following steps:

• Register for the CUET through the cuet.samarth.ac.in portal.
•  Students also need to apply for their specific courses through the official NEHU website.
• Post clearing the CUET, students will be required to attend counselling sessions as notified by the university.
• After all the counselling sessions are over, the North-Eastern Hill University merit lists will be uploaded on the official website.

North-Eastern Hill University offers three different MBA programmes- general MBA, MBA in service management and MBA in agri-business management. The NEHU MBA admissions are based on the CUET PG scores. The final selection is made after the viva and group discussion conducted by the department. The MBA admissions at NEHU requires the following steps:

• Appear for the CUET PG and achieve a decent score.
• Register for MBA admission at the official NEHU website.
• Attend the GD and viva as notified by the admission committee. 
• The final decision is made on the basis of the following criteria:
  • CUET PG score (80% weightage)
  • Group Discussion (10% weightage)
  • Viva (10% weightage)

To apply for B.Tech admission at North-Eastern Hill University, candidates must qualify for JEE Mains or JEE Advanced. The next step is to register for counselling at JoSAA or CSAB. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) or Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will declare merit lists as well as allocate institutes to the deserving candidates based on the JEE scores. For B.Tech at NEHU candidates must complete the following steps: 

• Appear for JEE Mains or JEE Advanced and qualify for it. 
• Register at the JoSAA or CSAB at josaa.nic.in or csab.nic.in respectively using the JEE roll number and password. 
• After the JoSAA or CSAB registration, candidates must fill their choice of courses and colleges from the available list. 
• The courses and colleges matching with the candidate’s eligibility will be listed out in online mode. Candidates can choose North-Eastern Hill University from the given list and the B.Tech course they wish to opt for. 
• The next step is to lock their selected choices. No changes will be accepted once the choices are locked by the candidates. 
• After shortlisting candidates JoSAA or CSAB will call them for document verification at their nearest centre. 
• After the final merit lists are declared, candidates will be notified by the respective universities (NEHU in this case) to seek admission on the notified date.
• There will be another round of document verification where candidates must present the JoSAA or CSAB selection form, academic documents, migration certificate and four recent passport size photographs. 
• Finally, candidates can confirm their seats after NEHU B.Tech fees payment.

Candidates with 55% marks or ‘B’ grade in the 7-point UGC scale at the master’s level or equivalent in the concerned subject are eligible for PhD admission at NEHU. NEHU offers PhD programmes in subjects like Nanotechnology, Computer Applications, English, Political Science, IT, Tourism and Hotel Management, etc. Apart from the entrance test and viva, candidates with a national or state level qualification like UGC/ CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE, etc. 

The North-Eastern Hill University PhD admission involves the following steps:

• Register for the NEHU research entrance test and appear for it.
• Shortlisted candidates will be notified for a personal interview or group discussion by the respective departments. 
• Students must carry valid ID proof and original academic certificates on the day of viva/ interview.
• The final merit list will be uploaded on the NEHU official website by combining the entrance test and viva scores. All information relating to admission dates, venue, time, etc. will be notified by the university. 
• Selected candidates are to seek admission on the scheduled date without fail. The last step is to verify all documents, pay the admission fee and save the final form/ receipt for future reference.
