No, 78% marks are not a compulsory requirement for you to participate in the admission process for the B.Sc Nursing course at BFUHS. The minimum required marks in class 12 are 50%, however, the higher your marks are, the better it is, since it increases your chances of selection. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences will be the conducting body for the Punjab NEET UG Counselling in 2023. The NEET cutoff is accepted by the institute for admission to the MBBS, BDS, MD, and, MS courses only. For the B.Sc Nursing course, the Punjab Paramedical Entrance Test (PPMET) is accepted. Based on the results of this test, multiple merit lists are released with the names of the selected candidates. Therefore, there is no Baba Farid University of Health Sciences cut off as such for the B.Sc Nursing course. However, the higher you score in the PPMET exam, the higher will be your chances of selection.

BFUHS Overview

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences is conducting the Punjab state counselling for NEET. The authorities will release the round 2 provisional counselling results on August 25, 2023. Students will further be able to check the final counselling results for BFUHS admissions to MBBS and BDS courses on August 28, 2023. Students who will be selected on the basis of Punjab NEET counselling results will have to report to the allotted college between August 29 to September 4, 2023.

For Baba Farid University of Health Sciences UG admission 2023, the round 2 choice filling last date was August 21, 2023. Before that, the authorities released the BFUHS merit list for round 2 on August 16, 2023. To offer students the opportunity to check the seat vacancy after round 1 counselling, the authorities released the round 2 seat matrix on August 10, 2023.

BFUHS Facilities

The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Punjab campus is well-equipped with Library, Hostel, Sports Complex, Labs, Cafeteria, Auditorium, etc. Here students are trained with modern techniques, they get the opportunity to learn with audio/visual learning experiences.

Hostel

The BFUHS Faridkot campus offers clean, well-maintained rooms with beds, study tables, and cupboard cooler/ air-conditioner facilities. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls within the campus. The WiFi facility is also available in hostels. For availing of hostel facilities, students need to fill out the form and deposit a security amount. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences hostel is administered by the warden, students with any problem can approach the warden at any time. It is of utmost importance to obey hostel rules any ill manner behaviour will not be tolerated on the hostel premises.

Laboratories 

The BFUHS laboratories are equipped with modern automated instruments, which will make the practical experiment more fun and knowledgeable. The laboratory list includes Medical Lab, Biochemistry Lab, Microbiology, Pathology, Immunology, Mammalian, Anatomy, Hematology, and Cardiac Cath Lab. 

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is one of the favourite spots of students where they come together, relax and build peer groups and strong connections, which will extend for a lifetime. Thus, special attention is given to hygiene and to avail healthy foods. Snacks, Tea and Coffee, are always there to fill the student’s in-between hunger.

Sports

The institute looks after the student’s overall advancement. Thus, extra-curricular activities are encouraged with the same spirit as academics. The BFUHS facilities for sports include Badminton, Basketball, Tennis & Volleyball courts, Cricket & Football grounds and Athletics. 

Gym

Staying fit and healthy is one’s responsibility towards themself. These healthy practices refresh the mind and keep energetic for long hectic days and boost the confidence level. The gym is well equipped with exercise and training equipment. This place helps the students to find a new peer group which shares the same fitness goal that opens the way for motivation and support when needed the most. 

Medical/ Hospital

A first aid kit is always available in hostel rooms. Students will be provided with all the treatment from a qualified medical officer.

Auditorium

Several cultural programs, seminars, and events are held at the auditorium. During these events anti-ragging cell is responsible for maintaining discipline.

HSLIBNET

This is one of the major initiatives taken by Baba Farid University of Health Science for the welfare of the students. The HSLIBNET is a Health Sciences Library Network of Punjab State, where learning is possible through a networking concept. It is a concept where all the college libraries working under this university are networked to promote the culture of cooperative procurement and resource sharing. The need for information resources in the educational sector is high, but depending on expensive books and journals was not feasible and building a comprehensive collection at every college was unaffordable. 

To resolve this crisis, the Resource Sharing Consortium for Learning Materials was implemented. This helped to maximize the utilization of resources among students, faculties, and researchers and minimized the cost of acquisition and maintenance of learning materials. The main areas of the consortium are E-journal subscription, Union catalogues, and the Digital Library of Health Sciences. 

With the Implement of HSLIBNET in the BFUHS infrastructure following points have been attained :

  • This enables access to learning materials by everyone without any discrimination at high discounted rates.
  • The students can access the information at any time from anywhere with the help of desktop 365 days a year.
  • Digital access to information saves printing costs and makes management easy.
  • At the same time, multiple users can access the material. It provides access to the current content and also backfiles of the subscribed content.

The other BFUHS facilities available are Guest House, Ayurvedic Clinical Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, Common Room, and Demonstration Room.

BFUHS Events and Clubs

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences cultural events is the main highlights where all the students from various streams get together and enjoy themselves as a family. The BFUHS events provide platforms to discover their hidden talents and uplift their confidence level, which is very much important for every individual. The students are given enough time to the preparation for Baba Farid University of Health Sciences events. Here festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm. 

The clubs allow the development of leadership qualities. BFUHS clubs unite the students to work with a single aim, There are different clubs such as the cultural club, anti-ragging cell, and women's grievance cell. The main objective of the anti-ragging cell is to provide a ragging-free environment and educate the students about its after-effects. Teachers are one of the strongest pillars of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. It is their dedication and hard work which helps to uphold the reputation of the institution. They are the only people who are in direct interaction with the students and guide them to understand their strengths and weaknesses and motivate them to accept their uniqueness and stand out of the box. Some of the big names of the industry are associated with the BFUHS Faculty list. The BFUHS VC is Dr Raj Bahadur, who is also the project director and member secretary of the Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, Mohali. Along with the BFUHS Vice Chancellor, there are other members in the administration like the Dean, Registrar, Finance Officer, Joint Director, Executive Engineer, Controller of Examination, etc.

Well-Experienced and qualified faculties apply various learning methodologies to train the students efficiently.
