- For the B.Pharma course, applicants must have passed the 10+2 exam with english, mathematics, and physics as the compulsory subjects, along with chemistry, biology, or biotechnology as an optional subject. They must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% in the 10+2 exam.
- For B.Com, B.CA, B.Ed, and BBA, candidates must secure at least 50% in their senior secondary class 10+2.
- PG including M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Pharma, and M.Com courses require a bachelor's degree in a relevant stream.
- For the PGD course, the Candidate must possess a certificate of passing the 10+2 examination from a recognised school in any relevant stream. The candidate must attain a minimum aggregate of 50% in the 10+2 exam (45% for reserved candidates). The candidate must possess a degree from a recognised university within two years
- For the Diploma course, a candidate must have a minimum of two years of ITI diploma from a recognised institute or a 10+2 degree with vocational or non-medical subjects.

To be eligible for the scholarships
- A student who has passed the 10+2 examination from a recognised school (affiliated to CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, etc.) with a grade point average of 60% or more is eligible to apply for the SVIET entrance exams. The scholarship amounts to Rs 5 crores.
- Post matric scholarship offered to minority categories. The following documents must be provided as per the guidelines laid out by the Punjab government: caste certificate, income affidavit by a first class magistrate (less than Rs 2.5 lacs/year) A copy of the Bank Passbook linked to the aadhaar Card, and A copy of the aadhar card.
