The candidates from the state of Punjab and also from other states who possess minimum qualifications (10+2 pass) are also eligible for admission at this stage however as per Punjab govt. notification the choice of discipline shall be determined giving preference to CET/AIEEE and then to 10+2 pass (Physics, Math's compulsory Subjects + Any one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science at 10+2 Level). Diploma holders in any branch of the engineering from any State Board of Technical Education. Education equals to Punjab State Board can seek Direct Admission in the second year of all Degree Courses.

A candidate with Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in any discipline is eligible to seek admission to full time MBA program. Candidates appearing for the final year of graduation in 2009 are also eligible to apply, however, the result of such candidates must be available before the last date of admission declared by Punjab Technical University.
