IIST Thiruvananthapuram has begun the admission process for 2025. The JEE Main Session 1 exam has been held from 28 to 30th January, 2025. While the JEE Main Session 2 exam will be held from April 1 to April 8, 2025. The GATE 2025 exam will be held on 1st, 2nd, 15th and 16th of February, 2025. They must, however, maintain a CGPA of 9.0 or higher on a scale of 10 at the conclusion of each year in order to receive a full fee remission for the next year.
• Students (UG/DD) entering in 2021-22 who obtain a CGPA of 9.0 or higher (on a scale of 10) in a given semester will earn a 50% tuition fee remission the following semester. The number of waivers granted shall be limited to 10% of the admitted students in each programme.

• A review committee will evaluate their performance after two years of research experience. Following the review, the fellowship amount could be increased to Rs 35000/- per month.
• The scholars will be expected to assist Departments in tutorials, practicals, or other similar academic activities for a maximum of 6 hours per week.
• According to IIST norms, scholars must pay for the Institute's amenities such as boarding, accommodation, and medical care.
