Placement: Placements in kgec is really good if we are targeting it jobs. For core jobs it's little bit bad.But yeah slowly the situation core branches is improving. For my batch DXCorr (a vlsi company) recruited 8 people from kgec, besides in 2023 l&t hired so many students from kgec.Besided that there are so many core branch companies (Adani,mn dastur etc) hired students from kgec. And for it jobs we have TCS, kreeti technology, nihilent, nri fintech etc.
Infrastructure: Being a government college funded by West Bengal govt we have good infrastructure. But I believe there is a serious need of upgradation of labs , college building s.The newly constructed administrative building is good, but rest of the building needs upgradation.Being an ECE student I believe we need advanced VLSI labs not only those microprocessor and microcontroller lab,we need advanced FPGA lab, semiconductor fabrication labs, updated EDA tool chain from CADENCE,Synopsys etc.
Faculty: Faculties in kgec are really good.Almost all of them either have PhD or pursuing PhDs.Some of them are ex employees of many reputed organization s like DRDO, ISRO etc.Their teaching quality is really good.
Hostel: In kgec we have 6 hostels i.e APC(previously it was only for 1 st years boys ),PC(girls hostel for all the years ),VC,RBC,RRR,mtech hostel.Except PC all the hostels are for boys.Hostel life is the most amazing phase of our engineering life.Hostel rooms are really spacious, equipped with table, chairs, beds. We only have to pay each months mess bill(approximately it goes upto 2000 rupees per month). Coming to the mess food ,this might be a problem, but slowly our stomach gets adjusted to that food.
Overall: KGEC's **Electrical Engineering Department** aims to be a renowned center of education, producing globally competitive engineers, researchers, and technologists. Here's what defines their vision and mission: 1. **Vision**: - To become a recognized hub for Electrical Engineering education. - To nurture engineers with a strong foundation in theory and practical industrial knowledge. - To foster innovation and excellence. 2. **Mission**: - Impart **quality education** in Electrical Engineering and related subjects. - Cultivate a motivated and globally competitive student community. - Create an environment conducive to collaborative research and industry partnerships.
Placement: Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) has a commendable placement record. In the 2022 placement season, 98.2% of students secured placements. Noteworthy recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Oracle, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Cognizant, Hitachi, EPAM, Ernst and Young, and Hexaware. The average salary package stood at 5.5 LPA. KGEC’s commitment to fostering student success through quality placements remains unwavering
Infrastructure: Our 75-acre campus boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, including smart classrooms, interactive conference rooms, and well-equipped laboratories. With affiliations to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, KGEC offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and MCA programs across 10 academic departments. Our community of learners strives to educate minds, nurture spirits, and foster holistic development. KGEC consistently promotes quality technical education, research, and student placements, making it a beacon of excellence in engineering education.
Faculty: Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) boasts a dedicated and talented faculty, committed to nurturing the thirst for knowledge and fostering holistic development. Our faculty members contribute significantly to the institution’s success, emphasizing genuine capabilities and profound knowledge. Led by Dr. Sourabh Kumar Das, our principal, they ensure quality technical education, research, and student placements. KGEC offers an incredible basket of academic programs, sophisticated facilities, and an unusual emphasis on experiential learning
Overall: Placements are overall okay types i won't say good but okay...students mostly prefer higher studies through GATE exam...campus is good...but the college's location is not too good...for IT branch total fees is around 1 lakh...but for the other branches it's 60k
Placement: Placements are okay types just like i said.......this college has got a placement cell...so you will be trained for placement....this college has touched 44 lpa.
Infrastructure: Not bad to be honest it has 5-6 building in the campus...like academic cum administrative building, central library, satyendra nath bhaban , mechanical workshop, electrical workshop.
Faculty: Faculty members are good ...very good......you will be taught everything very well...all the departments....we have 5 departments like computer science and engineering, information technology, ECE, electrical, and mechanical
Overall: Having explored both colleges, each has distinct advantages. The first college, with its robust placement record, faculty dedication, and enriching campus life, provides a well-rounded academic experience. Meanwhile, the second college, with its emphasis on growing placement statistics and a revered faculty in Mechanical Engineering, offers a balance of tradition and progress. Carefully weigh your preferences in terms of placement focus and academic environment to make an informed choice for your academic journey.
Placement: The first college showcases a solid placement track record with a focus on individual student quality, prominent recruiters like TCS, Hitachi, Wipro, and Infosys, and a range of internship opportunities. On the other hand, the second college is experiencing a positive trend in placements, especially in Mechanical Engineering, with an average salary package ranging between 3.6 LPA and 4 LPA. Consider your career aspirations and industry preferences when evaluating the placement scenario at each college for a well-rounded decision.
Infrastructure: The first college stands out with neat classrooms and a conducive academic environment, though the absence of Wi-Fi in the department building may be a consideration. On the flip side, the second college, being state-funded, may lack in modern infrastructure but compensates with green surroundings and an unrestricted campus life. The choice here lies between a contemporary setting with potential technological limitations and a more natural, relaxed atmosphere. Evaluate your priorities to decide the optimal balance between modern facilities and a tranquil environment for your academic pursuit.
Faculty: Both colleges shine in their commitment to supportive faculty. The first college emphasizes teachers' efforts in explaining concepts, personalized assistance, and industry readiness through various training programs. Meanwhile, the second college takes pride in its oldest and esteemed faculty members in the Mechanical Engineering Department, ensuring a strong foundation in academics. Prioritize your preference for teaching styles and expertise when evaluating the faculty aspect, as their guidance is instrumental in shaping your educational experience.
Overall: Amazing faculty, very good workshops and decent placement thats why this is one of the best college in west bengal after Jadhavpur university and IIEST shibpur.
Placement: Good placement but most of the companies are IT companies so they generally recruit from cse, it , ece department with decent pakage, average pakage is around 3.5 lpa and maximum is around 5 lpa. This year core company Hindustan Unileaver Limited visited our campus and recruited 3 students of mechanical with pakage of 9 lpa( highest pakage in kgec history). Overall if you have good marks like above 7 cgpa then you are more likely to get a job from campus recruitment.
Infrastructure: Here you will find all basic infrastructure like labs, workshop, library, seminar hall but you will not get sports facility if you are not residing in hostel.
Hostel: There are 3 senior boys hostel 1 junior boys hostel and 1 girls hostel. All hostels have sports facility, gym, wifi, common room etc. Mess food is decent here and very cheap.
Overall: Overall this is a good college if you want to pusiue a engineering degree. You will gain good knowledge. If you are good in some extra curricular activities like dacing, singing, photography, literature then you will get many opportunities to show your talent.
