The MIT placement cell follows the below responsibilities:
The summer internships help is very helpful for the students as these provide them with a real-world simulation of work that happens in the industry on a day-to-day basis. These internships are planned in such a way that they do not occupy enough time from students’ schedules. So that they can focus on their current curriculum.
After successful completion of an internship, the provider is supposed to provide students with an internship certificate. The certificate holds value in the market as this shows the student has early exposure to industry-level work.
T-series is a mentoring system that is followed at MIT Chennai which. This system assigns a mentor to a student who is from a previous batch and this mentor provides help, answers queries, provides counseling and also passes books if needed.
Each student is also provided with a T-number that is a combination of batch code and roll no. This setup not only provides the necessary guidance but this helps to ensure that students are on the right carrier path. The students in this setup are called as T-Juniors. The experience of Seniors comes in handy as they underwent a similar process and hence can guide the current batch of students better.
T-Juniors are also helped as they can practice mock interviews and aptitude tests during this time. This also help to form the community of students; they also have get-together and form network. The students from MIT at higher positions in companies can refer students from the college to help carriers of T-Juniors get kickstarted.
