NIT Meghalaya admission process for BTech involves candidates to qualify the JEE Main exam and registering for the JoSAA counselling process. JoSAA 2024 registration process starts from June 10, 2024 onwards.
NIT Meghalaya offers 5 courses in the B.Tech program, 5 specialization courses in M.Tech, MSc. in 3 streams, and a PhD program in Engineering, Science, and Humanities. It has maintained good relationships with society, NGOs, and governments to work for the betterment of the region, state, and nation. For each course, there is a separate eligibility criterion for admission apart from that the student who desires admission has to write the required entrance test and pass the NIT Meghalaya cutoff. All the necessary details have been discussed in brief in the further sections.

Admission to various courses at the National Institute of Technology, Shillong, is based on an entrance test relevant to the course applied or selected by the candidate. The exam accepted for the B.Tech course is JEE Main, followed by JoSAA counselling. The exam accepted for M.Tech is GATE, followed by CCMT counselling. The exam accepted for MSc. course is GATE, followed by CCMN counselling. Shortlisting candidates for a PhD is done based on the candidate's performance in written tests and interviews. The final admission is granted to students only after fee payment and document verification.
JoSAA counselling is meant for B.Tech aspiring candidates.
CCMT counselling is meant for M.Tech aspiring candidates.
CCMN counselling is meant for MSc. aspiring candidates.
Candidates applying for courses at the National Institute of Technology Shillong must submit the application form online. Candidates should also fill out the application form for the entrance exams like JEE Main or GATE before appearing for the examination.
