NIT Meghalaya Campus Facilities: Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

The beautiful campus of NIT Meghalaya is spread over 300 acres of land surrounded by the breath-taking view of East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. The academic and administrative buildings of NIT Meghalaya cover 25,000 square metres of land. NIT Meghalaya is a residential college. It has hostel facilities available for all of its students. NIT Meghalaya has 5 boys’ hostels with a total capacity of 1500 students and 2 girls’ hostels with an accommodation capacity of 400 students. It has 120 residences of various categories. The hostels of the institute have a mess, wifi facility, gym, and are equipped with sports equipment. It has a 100-room guest house available as well. 

The huge auditorium of NIT Meghalaya can accommodate 1500 people at a time. All the programmes are organised and celebrated here. To take care of the health care facility, NIT Meghalaya has a doctor who visits the campus three times a week. The college has an agreement with a known hospital of the state to treat its faculty and students and the expenses are reimbursed by the institute. The hostels and campus of NIT Meghalaya enjoy 24*7 power back-up. The college also provides waste management facility. Bank, post office and book shops are also available within a range of 1 km of the academic campus. The central library of NIT Meghalaya has housed more than 10,000 volumes of textbooks and reference books for every course offered by the institute. Apart from this, the library also provides digital access to the Library of ACM, IEEE and ASME. The institute provides world-class classrooms to its students. It has computer labs that are well-equipped with iMacs. 

The Robo-IoT is a Robotics and IoT (Internet of Things) Club at the National Institute of Technology Meghalaya. This Club represent a community of students who have interest to create technical solutions for socially relevant problems, build new smart home technologies which involve IoT and derive pleasure in creating robots that may even be potent to work without human intervention. All members of this community will work towards providing complete solutions to technical problems under the indispensable guidance of experienced faculty members. This may involve interdisciplinary knowledge from the domains of Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Information Technology, and Computer Science. To achieve its designated goals, the members of the club shall be visiting neighboring localities and villages, and also meet and discuss with various cross sections of the society, to identify important socially relevant problems that require indigenous solutions. They will also collaborate with other institutions and industrial houses for expertise in relevant areas, and also to get expert guidance regarding the subsystems and components that would be best suited for the projects being implemented
