  • Before applying to any course, the candidate must first register, validate their mobile number and email address, then choose the course.
  • Candidates must fill in the information such as full name, gender, date of birth, communication address, etc.
  • The applicant must upload their photo, signature, qualifying exam results, entrance exam results, etc.
  • The candidate must now provide their approval, verify the information provided, and finish paying the Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology application fee.

Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology  Eligibility Criteria

  • 10+2 with a minimum of 45%: This requirement has to be fulfilled for B. Tech. For admission into B. Tech, a candidate must have scored 45% in maths and physics. 
  • Graduation with a minimum of 50%: This criterion has to be fulfilled for MBA, MCA, and M. Tech. For admission into M. Tech in Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, a candidate must have bachelor's degree or equivalent in the appropriate discipline with a minimum of 50% on the qualifying examination along with a valid score in the PGCET/GATE exam.
  • For admission into MBA, a candidate must have the required degree from a recognised university. A minimum of 50% in the degree is required. Participated in at least one PGCET/CMAT/KMAT entrance exam.
  • For admission into MCA, the candidate must have completed a B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level with additional required courses as per the norms of the recognised university.
  • Diploma with a minimum of 50%: This criterion has to be fulfilled for lateral entry in B. Tech. For admission into B. Tech (Lateral Entry) in Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, a candidate must have a diploma from an AICTE-approved institution or pass any equivalent exam from a recognised university, and 10+2 pass with one of the subjects being mathematics. In 10+2, a candidate should have a total of 45% (40% in the case of candidates belonging to the reserved category of Karnataka). Admission is exclusively available through the KEA exam.

The last date for option entry was after extension was November 21, and hence, you cannot apply for the same now. However, KEA will soon release the round 2 options entry dates on its website. Dear Student,

You can sit for the Karnataka PGCET exam for CSE paper even after being an ECE non-Karnataka student. There are no restrictions for students of other states to join the Karnataka PGCET exam. However, it is important for the other states’ students to meet the eligibility criteria in order to take the exam. The criterion to be eligible states that the students need to score a minimum of 50% in their graduation. You should also note that those belonging to the SC/ ST category shall be considered as the General category students in contrast to the other states’ categories.
