Fee Concessions

Zakir Husain Delhi College provides the students with the option of fee concessions where the student who is meritorious and needy will be able to avail the opportunity. The candidates will have to pay the full admission fee for the first year.

Staff Association of Student Welfare Fund

Zakir Husain College is a constituent of the University of Delhi. This implies that it comes under the fuding of the government. The fees of the college is very minimal and is easily affordable by the majority of population. However, the college aims to bridge the gap between the financial and educational ends of the students. The concessions are awarded on the basis of the merit of the students along with their financial conditions.   • Mirza Mahmood Begg Memorial Scholarship

Three scholarships of Rs 1400 each are provided to the undergraduate students who score well in their departments. These departments include Humanities and Social Science excluding Mathematics, and Commerce and Science including BA and B.Sc.

  • Sri Narain Nigam Memorial Scholarship

As part of this scholarship, three students are awarded cash prizes who perform the best in their batches. This scholarship is for the 2nd year students. Rs 1100 are given to the best scoring students of Humanities and Social Science excluding BA (H) Mathematics. Rs 700 are allocated for visually challenged students. Rs 1100 for science students. 

  • Ved Kumar Gupta Memorial Scholarship

This Zakir Husain College scholarship is designed specifically for the BA (H) Political Science course. The students who score the highest percentage in their 2nd year will be awarded this scholarship of Rs 1100. 

  • Kumar Shubham Memorial Scholarship

Under this scholarship, there are 4 rewards for the 2nd year students. The best scoring student in BA (H) Psychology will be awarded Rs 700. Rs 350 will be awarded for humanities and social science excluding BA (H) Mathematics. Rs 350 each for a commerce student as well as a science student including BA (H) Mathematics.

  • All India Entrance Scholarship

The University of Delhi conducts an annual exam in the month of October every year. Students who clear the examination are eligible to avail this scholarship. They are provided with a cash reward of Rs 250 per month for 3 years. The bachelor students from first year can sit for this exam. Students will have to fill a basic Zakir Husain College scholarship form to apply for the same.

  • Mrs Harjinder Grover Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is in the memory of a faculty member who served the college for a long time. The students of B.Sc (Botany) and B.Sc in Life Sciences are awarded this scholarship. A prize of Rs 500 each is given to students who score well in these courses respectively.

  • SP Suri Memorial Scholarship

Medals, books, and certificates are awarded to the students of Chemistry department who score well in B.Sc (H) Chemistry in the first, second and third year respectively. This is a fruitful Zakir Husain Delhi College scholarship.

  • MK Gupta Memorial Award

This award is also given to students who have scored excellent marks in the B.Sc (H) Chemistry in the first, second and third years. 

  • Gopa Dey Memorial Award

A cash prize of Rs 1500, Rs 1000, and Rs 500 are awarded to students who score the first, second and third positions respectively in BA (H) Bengali. Apart from this, a cash prize of Rs 1000 is also awarded to students who perform well in cultural activities from the Bengali department. 

  • Vidya Devi Educational Fund

As part of the Zakir Husain College scholarship scheme, this fund was created in 2015 amounting to Rs 5,51,000 by Mr Ashok Sharma, department of Commerce. This was created for the economic development of the backward section students. 60% of the interest earned on this fund is used for fee payment of commerce students who are from financially backward classes. The remaining 40% will be used for buying books for students of all disciplines.
