Situated in the heart of Delhi, Zakir Husain Delhi College has been well equipped with infrastructure and facilities that can be availed by the students. Among the facilities, the college offers the students with a Library, computer labs, seminar and audio-visual rooms, cafeterias, auditorium, and other basic facilities and infrastructure which can be availed by the student.
The Library of Zakir Husain Delhi College is a fully air-conditioned facility that provides the students with a total of 1,15,000 books. The students will be able to find study material for each of the subjects that are taught to them in their programmes. The students will also be able to find rare and historic documents that contain the history of the college. The Library can seat a maximum of 100 people at one go with different sitting areas and compartments for the teachers and the visually impaired students.
Zakir Husain Delhi College also promotes life outside of books, i.e. in various co-curricular activities like sports and cultural events. The students will be able to find a club or society that pursues their talent or hobby such as the Photography club, Debating Society, Arts and Culture Society which include dance, music, theatre societies among other. Zakir Husain College also hosts NCC and NSS activities as well where the students will be able to develop a deeper feeling of responsibility for their society.
Even with its three hundred year heritage, Zakir Husain College has been able to stay up to date with the technology and the latest trends and facilities that are required for the education of India’s Youth. The college has equipped its campus with computer labs that are fitted with updated software and all the necessary requirement of the students from each department. The college also has an audio-visual room that is fitted with an overhead projector as well as a public address system. The college also comes equipped with seminar halls and auditorium where various events and gatherings are conducted by the college both for academic and co-curricular activities.
Among the other basic facilities that Zakir Husain College has to offer its students, a canteen with a Safal outlet provides the students with a healthy and hygienic option in terms of snacks and food. Zakir Husain College promotes a healthy lifestyle for its students and to do so, the college does not allow the sale or consumption of junk food nor aerated beverages on its campus. The campus of Zakir Husain College also houses a bank facility for its students, teachers and staff, so that they find it easier to carry out any kind of financial transactions. Along with a bank, the college also provides medical facilities to the students round the clock as well as a stationery shop that provides photocopying facilities among other facilities and infrastructure.
The NCC unit of the college is very active and participation is open for boys as well as for girls. In three years of training a cadet can attend different camps and participate in various adventurous activities. Cadets, who pass the ‘C’ certificate examination with ‘A’ grade are exempted from the written examination for joining military services at officers level. The National Service Scheme unit works on different projects to make valuable contribution to the society and to sensitise our students towards various social issues. The Arts and Culture Society of Zakir Husain Delhi College has always excelled in all its three wings namely Music, Dance and Drama. Over the years it has been bringing home several trophies and prizes won at inter-college level. It has won prizes for acting and direction at several prestigious inter university competitions such as the ones held at N.S.D. and BITS PILANI. It is an extremely active society which tries to inculcate in students a sense of their cultural values and helps them understand the importance of preserving their rich arts and culture heritage.
This Club comprises of students and teachers interested in environment and ecological issues. Besides environment education, the club members take up environment improvement work in the college and its vicinity. The club also collaborates with other organisations working on similar issue
The photography Society has been formed with an objective to nurture the photography and creative skills of students. Student members of the society are given an opportunity to cover all the major events organised in the college. Apart from this, workshops on basics of DSLR, as well as photowalks are organised for students to learn various aspects of still and motion photography.
Quintessence, the Quiz Society of Zakir Husain Delhi College, endeavours foster quizzing skills and promote scholastic excellence and competence among students of the college. The Society organizes many intra college quizzes and one intercollegiate quiz fest, QUINTESSENCE, every academic year. The Society envisions making quizzing a wholesome co-curricular learning experience for students across disciplines
The film society screens feature films and documentaries by reputed national and international film makers, particularly those which are not usually available on the commercial circuit. Students are introduced to the special features of the films prior to the screening, which are followed by discussion
Infrastructure: If I talk about infrastructure of college as per my opinion it was really bad in conditions as I visited many of the other colleges of delhi university even tho when I took admission in the college the new building was about to open only the inogration was left but my college is ended now and still the building is closed.
Hostel: I can't say anything about the hostel because zakir husain college doesn't have any hostel and it is really bad for the student who came from other state of indian because they have to buy pg Or room and for that they have pay rent too much.
Infrastructure: College have all the necessary facilities and equipments Classrooms are very good with projector screen on classess. Our institution also has auditorium which is small but it is enough.
Infrastructure: Our college zakir Husain delhi college infrastructure is well maintained and there is two buildings old buildings which is running all classes are conducted in old buildings and new building is still not inaugurate it seems look like 5 star hotel
Hostel: In south campus of the university of delhi there is no hostel even there is no hostel in zakir husain delhi college .Most of the students came from out delhi and I personally feels like very hard accommodation to pay rent and food delhi is like very expensive.University should take action it.
Infrastructure: The upgradation of the campus happened long time ago but still pending for inauguration for 2 years and still counting. The old building can termed as “kaam chal raha hai toh chalne do”. The phrase can have an idea about the old building.
Hostel: There is no hostel for Zakir Husain delhi college, but it requires one hostel because majority students are non-delhi residents which makes difficulty specially for girls.
Infrastructure: Average infrastructure but new building will be great it will be open soon.This college is under Delhi University great faculty good infrastructure supportive staff and teachers all major degrees course are available here.
Hostel: Not available for anyone you have to apply for delhi university hostel for BA student and no near society area for living, have to far away from college.
Infrastructure: As soon as I have told that for infrastructure it is not good so be carefull about its infrastructure so we can study I think new building has built but it is not opening
Hostel: This campus is off campus there is no hostel facility so don't come for hostel in this college so college also not good yet so u should not do anything about hostel
