B.Tech Agricultural Engineering Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who wish to pursue a degree in B. Tech Agricultural Engineering must fulfil certain eligibility criteria in order to get eligible for the course. Though the eligibility criteria for admission to B. Tech Agricultural Engineering differs from college to college, there are certain minimum eligibility criteria which the candidates must fulfil for admission.

The eligibility criteria required for admission to B. Tech Agricultural Engineering are given below:

  • The candidates must have passed 12th or an equivalent degree from a recognised institute/board.

  • The candidate must have opted for Mathematics and Physics as the major subjects in class 12th along with one of the optional subjects as Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology.

  • The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% for the reserved candidates) in the qualifying examination. 

  • The candidates who are appearing for the final exam or waiting for the final result can also apply for admission to B. Tech Agricultural Engineering course.

Admission Process

While some colleges offer admission to B. Tech Agricultural Engineering program on the basis of merit obtained by the student in JEE Main, some of the colleges also conduct their own entrance exam for testing the eligibility of students for admission. Based on the merit obtained by the student in the qualifying exam or an entrance exam, the shortlisted candidates are called for the university level test in which their proficiency in terms of 12th level Science, Mathematics Concept, Aptitude and Reasoning are evaluated. Based on the performance of the student in the entrance exam, the qualified candidates are further called for the personal interview round conducted by the colleges. Based on the overall marks obtained by the student in the entrance exam and the interview round, the eligible candidates are offered admission to the program. 

B. Tech Agricultural Engineering Course Fees

The course fee for B. Tech Agricultural Engineering depends on various factors such as the type of the institute,  the popularity/ ranking of the institute, and the merit/ scholarship earned by the student. For instance, the student having higher marks in the entrance exam will be provided a higher scholarship, accounting for a lower course fee as compared to students with direct admission.
