The Biju Patnaik University of Technology BPUT was founded in 2003 with the laying of the foundation stone by the late Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the hon'ble President of India. BPUT is a public-private university, affiliated by UGC and is situated in Rourkela, Odisha. BPUT runs 137 institutes both affiliated and constituent. Biju Patnaik University of Technology offers PhD, master's, and undergraduate degrees in engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture, planning, and many more fields. • This college offers students the opportunity to obtain insurance through New India Assurance Company Limited, which offers the following insurance policies to students: 
• In the event of the student's death due to an accident, Rs 2,000,000 will be considered for the parent. 
• In the event of serious harm in an accident, the student is eligible for Rs 100,000 in compensation. 
• In the event of the death of an earning parent or guardian, a sum of Rs 2,00,000 is considered for the student.
