The Army Institute of Law, Mohali, is affiliated with the P.U. of Patiala and is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved by the BCI. It was founded by the Indian Army under the Army Welfare Education Society (Bar Council of India).
The institute offers law programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Admission is granted based on the results of an entrance examination administered by the prestigious Institute. Every year, the institute receives thousands of applications for admission to the courses offered through AIL-LET.
The Army Institute of Law Entrance Test (AIL-LET) is a national-level exam for admissions to the 5-year integrated study of law, the BA LLB, and is usually held in June, with the application form posted in March. The application process for the AIL-LET is done online, and admission in Army Institute of Law is based solely on the results of the AIL-LET.
An aspirant must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% in aggregate. Those who have completed 10+2 through Open University systems without having any basic requirements for furthering their education are ineligible for admission.
Applicants who take the qualifying exam in March/April can take the AIL LET 2023 provisionally. For AIL LET 2023, such students must complete the 10+2 examination with minimum qualifying marks. Mohali will be granted admission to AIL based on merit and subject to meeting the eligibility requirements. The AIL LET merit list will be generated category by category, depending on the candidates' test scores.
The exam is given in an online, computer-based format at several locations throughout the country. The online AIL LET exam lasts two hours and consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. The AIL LET will include general knowledge, current affairs, numeracy, and legal awareness questions.
The program has an intake of 80 seats. 75 seats out of these are designated for army personnel and 5 reserved for the All India Category, which will be filled based on AIL LET 2023 scores. The university will fill 20 seats through centralised online counselling for Army Institute of Law Mohali admission.
