In 2022, it secured the 78th spot in B.Tech by India Today, ranked 96th in the Times Ranking All India category, and was 10th in the Times Ranking for the best colleges in Bangalore. It also held the 54th position in The Week's best-ranked colleges in 2021.

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering provides a broad academic spectrum with 20 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate courses across various branches of engineering. The college also has 20 dedicated research centres, fostering innovation and advanced learning. Admissions at DSCE are conducted annually, starting in March and concluding by the end of July. The admission process for Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering courses is conducted through common state or national-level tests such as CET and COMMED-K. Additionally, lateral entry for diploma holders is available from the third semester, starting around July/August. For admissions through management quota, engineering aspirants must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), with passing marks in each subject. For MBA admissions, candidates must have an aggregate of 50% across all years/semesters of their degree examinations. Hostels:

Some students feel the hostels at DSCE are good but a bit expensive. There are two types of rooms: one for NRIs and one for Indian students. The NRI hostel gets a thumbs up for cleanliness, good Wi-Fi, and a canteen. But some students aren't happy with the rooms in the Indian hostel. The boys' NRI hostel is quite nice, with two beds, cupboards, desks, and private bathrooms. The girls' hostels are clean but have shared bathrooms.

The library is a big hit among students, thanks to its vast collection of resources and efficient RFID technology. The Wi-Fi is reliable, which is always a plus for students. The hostels, however, get mixed reviews. While they are appreciated for their cleanliness and facilities, some students feel they are a bit expensive. The rooms in the NRI hostel are considered much better than the ones in the Indian hostel.

A good number of both UG and PG students bagged jobs in 2022, with median salaries ranging from INR 4.5 LPA to INR 5 LPA. The placement percentage for both UG and PG courses was around 80%. Plus, some top companies like HCL, Amazon, and Accenture come to recruit, which is always a good sign.
