GNIT is a popular college.

Overall: GNIT is a popular college. Review: I am a B.Tech pass-out student of the Food Technology branch at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. GNIT is a popular B.Tech college in Kolkata. The college has a large campus and required facilities. The department of Food Technology had its own labs for practical teaching. The teachers were very helpful and experienced.

Placement: The placement opportunities for Department of Food Technology students at GNIT are above average. Decent companies like nestle, ITC Infotech, Keventer Agro Ltd, and TCS offered placement in our batch.

Infrastructure: Guru Nanak Institute of Technology campus is located in a very huge area and quiet location. There are several buildings for hostels and departments. The campus has all the facilities required by the students. The main infrastructure of the college includes a library, labs, hostels, canteen, playgrounds, etc.

Faculty: I can say for sure that the faculty at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology is really good. The teachers in the Department of Food Technology were PhD holders. They were very much experienced and helped their students.

Hostel: GNIT offers a hostel facility with a mess for both boys and girls. There are single, double and triple sharing rooms in the hostel. The hostel charges are also affordable. Students get basic amenities like washrooms, Wi-Fi, and laundry facilities in the hostel.

Overall: I was a student of B.Tech in Food Technology at GNIT Kolkata. There are very few colleges with good infrastructure and labs for students of food technology and GNIT is one of them. The full course fee was around Rs 4.5 Lakh to be paid in 8 semesters which was affordable for me. The faculty of GNIT Kolkata is experienced and knowledgeable. Apart from regular classes, they also arranged various practical sessions and seminars for us. Overall It was a value-for-money college.

Placement: GNIT Kolkata's placement rate overall is about 80 to 90%. Many top companies related to our field visit the campus and select students for various job roles.

Infrastructure: My major concern apart from placements was to have more practical experience through labs for Food Technology. GNIT Kolkata has advanced labs for B.Tech students and the campus has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities such as hostel, library, canteen, transport and sports facilities.

Faculty: The faculty members of GNIT Kolkata B.Tech in Food Technology were extremely helpful and provided the best guidance to the students. All the teachers were well-educated and some of them were PhD scholars. I really liked the practical approach they used to teach us. Apart from classroom lectures and labs, they tried their best to make us industry-ready by organising seminars and workshops for academic and personal development.

Hostel: Our college has separate hostels for boys and girls. It has a mess, laundry and medical facilities. The food is nice and the menu keeps on changing. I really liked the environment of the hostel.

Overall: GNIT always has a good reputation and it won't be going to fade, in my own personal experience. It is a well-maintained college where the main focus has always been to nurture the students growth.

Placement: The placement is pretty good, more than 75% of students get placed. The top recruiting companies are ITC, Keventer, Britannia, Parle, Winkles, Nestle, etc. Also, the collaboration with MyPerfectice helps the students to develop their soft skills, aptitude, reasoning ability, which is beneficial during placements.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is really good, the whole campus is well maintained and clean. There are labs with the latest equipments, smart classrooms, free wifi services, library, basketball court, gym, sports rooms. Library gives us huge access to subject-oriented books, reference books, several journals, magazines. Integrated security solution, CCTV is also installed in the whole campus.

Faculty: Our faculties are very helpful and the teaching quality is really appreciable. Faculty members are not just our teachers but they are our guide, mentor, who always encourage us to go for new innovative ideas. And the syllabus frame is well planned, which makes a bridge with industry requirements.

Hostel: As much as I know the condition of both the hostels are really good and several facilities, services are provided to the students. But I can't give much information about it as I don't stay in the hostel.
