IISc Bangalore Admission 2024

IISc Bangalore admission is offered to a total of 5 courses. For B.Sc and BTech admission, candidates need to qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced. For BSc in research program candidates have to either qualify JEE Advanced or IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) and further candidates meeting the cutoff have to participate in the counselling process conducted by the university itself. For M.Tech admission, candidates should have qualified the GATE coutoff and they are allocated seats through COAP. Candidates desirous to take admission to the MDes programme at IISc Bangalore must appear and meet the cutoff for CEED. The university offers a MMS programme through its Department of Management Studies wherein admission is based on GATE/CAT/GMAT scores. Further, they also need to appear for the counselling process as a part of the IISc Bangalore admission process. 15% weightage is given to the scores obtained in the entrance exam, 15% weightage to the academic merit, 30% weightage to the communication skills and the remaining 40% weightage is given to the performance of the candidates in the interview. IISc Bangalore Admission Criteria for UG Courses

  • Selection for Indian Institute of Science Education and Research admission is done based on marks obtained in the following entrance examinations:
    • JEE Main 2024 - BTech/Bsc
    • JEE Advanced 2024 - BTech/BSc
    • NEET (UG) 2024 - BSc
    • IISER Aptitude Test 2024 (IISc entrance exam for UG) - BSc
  • IISER AT is a national level exam for offering admissions to the research programmes offered by IISc. 
  • Selection for BTech is done based on the JEE Advanced 2024 and BSc admission is based on NEET UG and IISER AT. 
  • For proceeding with the IISc Bangalore admission process, candidates have to meet the IISc Bangalore cutoff for JEE Advanced, NEET UG and IISER AT.
  • Based on the counselling process, seats will be allotted to the candidates in the respective courses.
  • After seat allocation, candidates can proceed with the fee payment and document verification to confirm IISc Bangalore admission.
  • Subsequent to the seat allocation, candidates have to complete the IISc Bangalore admission procedure by paying the fees and getting the documents verified.
  • IISER Bangalore fee for the BTech course is Rs 2,20,000 annually and Rs 50,400 annually for the BSc course.

IISc Bangalore Selection Criteria for PG Courses

  • Candidates have to first fill out the application form for admission.
  • The application fee is Rs. 800/- for GN/OBC/EWC candidates and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/PWD categories.
  • Reservations and relaxations are available for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD and Kashmiri-Migrant (KM), Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in the Kashmir valley according to the Government of India regulations.
  • According to the IISc Bangalore selection criteria, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility requirements for their desired course.
  • For M.Tech and MDes programmes, candidates need to qualify for the GATE exam. Allocation of seats is through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).
  • Apart from GATE, IISc Bangalore admission to the MDes programme is offered through CEED as well.  After this candidates have to qualify an interview. The interview has a weightage of 30% whereas the weightage given to the scores obtained in the entrance exam is 70%  
  • For MMS programmes, candidates must appear for the CAT/GATE/GMAT and then they have to further qualify for an interview.
  • After seat allocation, candidates can proceed with the IISc Bangalore fee payment and document verification to confirm IISc Bangalore admission.

IISc Bangalore Application Process 2024

IISc Bangalore application is entirely conducted online. The university has an admission portal - https://admissions.iisc.ac.in/ through which one needs to enrol for any course. One must keep an image file of passport photo, signature, category certificate (if applicable), class 10th and 12th certificates, graduation certificate (for PG courses) before hand. Here is the step-wise IISc Bangalore application process:

  • Click on the desired course via the online IISC Bangalore admissions portal.
  • Students must first create an account on the IISc Bangalore admissions portal by clicking on "new user, to register, click here."
  • The next step is to fill out details such as name, date of birth, and email address to register.
  • Check that the name and date of birth on the degree certificates are the same. These values cannot be changed later.
  • Candidates will then receive an email from noreply.admission@auto.iisc.ac.in with a link to confirm their email address after they have registered. Their registration will be active after they click on that link. They can now submit their IISC Bangalore application by logging into the portal.

LPU NEST 2023 Application Form has been released via online mode. Exam Dates have been announced. It stands for Lovely Professional University National Eligibility and Scholarship Test. LPU NEST exam is conducted in different slots from January and April onwards. It is a university level entrance exam which is conducted for various courses including B.Tech, MBA etc. Candidates who want to get admission in Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes can enrol in the exam. Number of LPU graduated students are working at various MNC’s at high paying packages across the globe. In the year 2021-22, 431 LPU students are selected at packages of Rs.10 to Rs.62.72 Lakh.

IISc Banglore does not offer PG in Physics but it offers integrated courses in Physics (PG and Ph.D. together)

Basic Qualification and Eligibility: For Integrated Physics Course is a candidatemust have a  minimum of first-class or equivalent in B.Sc. or an equivalent degree with Physics as one of the main subjects or BE/B Tech or equivalent in any discipline.

Apart from the eligibility criteria, candidates must have qualified either in IIT JAM or JEST.
