Overall: In my point of view NIT Kurukshetra is better many north and north east NITs but still it has a lot to do for improvement of the college in the area of management , placement , hostels , infra , labs, etc. I think that is why NIRF ranking of the college decreasing in last two years continuously (from 40 to 60 in 2023). On the other hand, coming to the reviews , hostels and mess are average. Infra and facilities are good , academics and placements are also good here. Marking system , exam schedules and attendance criteria are better. CONFLUENCE is major cultural fest and TECHSPARDHA is major technical fest here and both are very good.
Placement: Placement scenario here is very good except last two years due to recession and layoff. Computer science and Information technology like branches get highest level of packages , average and median salary. Other than IT sector the core branches get average level of placement packages and percentages due to less number of companies in core sector . But mechanical , production and civil are decent branches here. I am attaching the last year placement stats.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college in my point of view is decent enough and better than many other NITs except top NITs. Library, ED Hall, Senate Hall, Jubilee Hall, Administrative building, Infinity corridor, Departments, LHC, MBA block, OAT, NIT market, AE Lawns, Moxie, Swimming Pool, NIT Lake, Sports Complex etc, are much more than average. And all of them are regularly maintained. These are the main infra of our college. I am attaching a beautiful picture of administrative building from side.
Faculty: Faculties here are very well qualified and experienced in their respective fields. Professors are very humble and kind enough to the students and are helpful too except some of our senior professors who are fairly rude to students on most of the times. Attendance criteria of 75% is strictly followed by some professors.
Hostel: There are 12 boys hostels and 5 girls hostels here. Among boys hostels one of them are for PhD scholars and that hostel is very nice . Most of the hostels are in good condition. For first year B.Tech students , there are four seater rooms but from second year to final year students there are single seater rooms. WiFi and LAN are good in some hostels but are bad in some hostels. Mess foods are better than average quality in all hostels except Mega hostel .
