Merit Scholarship

  • 26 in each academic year in 2nd, 3rd and 4th years awarded in each discipline separately in proportion to intake
     

For Subsequent Years 
60 percent or more marks in one attempt in each of the two semester examination in the perious year

For First Year 
Make secured in the first semester examination 

For Subsequent Years Marks secured in the aggregate in the two semester examination in the previous year.

Merit- cum Means Scholarship

4 years subject to (b) of eligibility conditions and 50 percent or

in the aggregate 
in the two semester examinations in each year provided that if a student fails in any subject in a semester examination. His marks in the next immediate examination will be included in the aggregate.

(a) first class or 60 percent or more marks in one attempt in the qualifying examination state from which

There are 26 merit scholarships and 52 merit-cum-Means Scholarships offered by NIT Kurukshetra for B.Tech courses. Apart from these, National Scholarships, Post-metric scholarship and many other stipends are also awarded by various government institutes and other agencies.

For Merit-cum-Means scholarship in the first year, the last date to apply is 30th September. Application forms for the same are available in the office of the Deputy Registrar (Academic). The number of scholarships is not fixed and they are decided by the sanctioning authority from time to time. The period for these scholarships and loans is for years. Any student who receives this scholarship will not be allowed to receive any other scholarship or a stipend.

Alumni Association Scholarship

This scholarship by NIT Kurukshetra is offered in Civil, Electronics, Computer and Mechanical Engineering Fields. 5 scholarships are offered and the value of the scholarship is Rs.2400 per annum, and it is open to all regular B.Tech students. However, the conditions to avail this scholarship are that the guardians/parents/financial supporters of the claimants are not able to support the candidate. And all previous papers, including theory and practical both, are clear. To apply for this scholarship, the student will get one copy of the application on the prescribed form A, an attested copy of the university/board degree certificate, and an affidavit by the guardians/parents mentioning their income from all sources. The duration of this scholarship offered by NIT scholarship is one year.

Apart from these scholarships, there are other scholarships/financial assistance and stipends provided by NIT Kurukshetra.
