Sastra University Admission 2024 Open for UG & PG Courses

SASTRA University admission is based on merit in the entrance exam as well as in Class 12 in the respective fields. For BTech and 5-year Integrated MTech programmes, JEE-main scores are considered, GATE for MTech and MSc, CLAT for Integrated LLB, CAT / XAT / AIMAT / CMAT / AIMCAT for MBA, and CUET 2024 for all other UG/ PG programs. The SASTRA University admission process is completely online. Based on the scores, a rank list is prepared and the process of counselling and seat allotment begins. SASTRA University also 50% tuition fee waiver to GATE-qualified students. For the PhD admissions, candidates must have completed their PG with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Additionally, they need to qualify through GATE, NET, SLET, UGC-CSIR, SASTRA Research Entrance Test (SRET), and an interview.

Eligibility for International Students for UG Admission

SASTRA University international admission is based on the candidate’s performance in the qualifying examination. However, candidates must submit the necessary transcripts, examination mark sheets, TOEFL/IELTS certificate and statement of purpose. A letter of recommendation is a plus.

SASTRA University Selection Criteria for UG Courses

SASTRA University admission to UG courses is based on entrance exams and Class 12 merit. 

• B.Tech admission is done in two streams - Stream 1 and Stream 2. Stream 1 admission is based on the normalized aggregate of Class 12 scores and JEE Main in a 50-50 ratio. Stream 2 admission process is for those who have not appeared in JEE Main. It considers the class 12 aggregate score
• Admission to Integrated law programmes is based on CLAT + 12th aggregate in 25:75 ratio.
• For SASTRA University admission 2024 in other UG courses, CUET scores are considered.

The rank list is published online after the application form deadline. Then, the candidates can attend the counselling and check the seat matrix on the website or through SMS.

SASTRA University international admission 2024 in PG courses is based on the student's merit in the final qualifying exams. Along with that, candidates must also have a TOEFL/IELTS certificate, transcripts, letters of recommendation and a statement of purpose. For admission in some courses, candidates must sit for an interview round.

SASTRA University Selection Criteria for PG Courses

SASTRA University admission to PG is based on entrance exams. 

• Admission to MCA is based on qualifying degree scores with Mathematics as a subject and the entrance exam conducted by SASTRA.
• For MBA admissions, qualified degree scores, entrance exams, and interviews are considered. CAT/ XAT/ AIMAT/ CMAT/ AIMCAT are also given preference.
• Qualifying UG/ PG degree programmes and GATE scores are considered for MTech and MSc.
• For MCom, BBA, BCom, and BA in the corporate sector from a recognised university are needed.
• Other PG programmes require qualifying scores in the particular degree and CUET scores.

Eligibility for International Student for PhD

SASTRA University PhD admission is done through its student exchange programme, PhD Abroad Programme, Dual Degree (Split - PhD) programme. The selection process is the same for incoming international students and students going abroad for PhD. Selection is done by the university from where the students are visiting and SASTRA University.

• SASTRA University admission to PhD is based on entrance exams depending on the course. 
• Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria must obtain a valid score in the GATE/NET/SLET/UGC-CSIR/SASTRA Research Entrance Test (SRET). 
• Next, they need to submit two letters of recommendation as well as attend the personal interview session conducted by the university.

Step 4: You will receive your registration number and password on your mobile number and email address provided.

Step 5:  Log in using the credentials and fill out the SASTRA University application form. Details like applicant details, father's details, mother's details, guardian's details, choice of branch, entrance exam details, address, education details, supporting documents and declarations etc need to be filled and submitted.

Step 6: Candidates need to pay the SASTRA University application fee of Rs 800, then click on submit. This will mark the end of the application process.
