MHRD Scholarships 2023: Complete List, Eligibility Criteria, Application, Rewards

• The applicants must be pursuing a regular course at a College/Institution recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education, known as AICTE, and the respective Regulatory Bodies concerned. This is an important eligibility criterion.
• The students must have scored above 80% marks score in the relevant stream from the respective recognized board in Class 12 or equivalent.
• The annual family income of the student household must not be more than INR 4.5 lakh from all sources.
• The applicants must not be the receipt of any other scholarship at the same time.

• The scholarship is available to students who are residents of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
• The students must have qualified class 12th or 10+3 diploma courses from J&K board, CBSE, or J&K state polytechnic schools/institutions which must be located in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh only.
• The students who are willing to study outside J&K and Ladakh can also apply for the scholarship
• The annual income of the student’s family must be less than INR 8 Lakh.

• This scholarship is applicable to female students belonging to the SC/ST communities and who are enrolled in Class 9.
• The students are required to have passed their class 8th examination from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and enroll in Class 9 in any state government, local body, or government-aided school.
• Only unmarried girls below the age of 16 years can apply for this scholarship.

• Students must be enrolled in Class 9 either in Government, Government-funded or local body schools.
• The student must have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grades in Classes 9 and 10.
• The annual family income of the student must be less than INR 3.5 lakh from all sources.
• For the students belonging to the SC/ST community, a relaxation of 5% is given.

For Direct Entry Channel

• The students must have completed or pursuing the final year of 4 or 5-year undergraduate or 5-year integrated M.Tech or 5-year integrated M.Sc. or 2-year M.Sc. or 5-year undergraduate-postgraduate dual degree programs in Science and Technology streams from IISc/IITs/NITs/IISERs/IIEST and centrally funded universities with a CGPA/CPI of at least 8.0 or equivalent 
• The student must have completed or pursuing the final year of 4-5 year undergraduate or 5-year integrated M.Tech or 5-year integrated M.Sc. or 2-year M.Sc. or 5-year undergraduate-postgraduate dual degree programs in Science and Technology streams from any other Institute/University recognized in India with a CGPA/CPI of at least 8.0 along with a minimum score of 650 in the respective subject in GATE exam

For Lateral Entry Channel

• Pursuing a Ph.D. in one of the PMRF granting institutions and completing at most 12 months in the Ph.D. program if the student has joined with a Master’s degree
• Completed at least four course modules in the Ph.D. program, each of the modules should be a full-semester course
• Obtained an aggregate CGPA of 8.5

• Girl students who have taken admission in the first year of a diploma/ degree program from an AICTE-recognized college could apply for an MHRD higher education scholarship.
• The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000.
•  Up to 2 girl children of the same family are eligible to apply.

• Differently-abled candidates with a disability level of not less than 40% can apply.
• They should have taken admission in the first year of a technical degree/ diploma course at an AICTE-recognized college.
• The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000.

• Students who have completed or are about to complete their undergraduate/ postgraduate degree can apply to the MHRD Commonwealth Scholarship.
• They should have scored a minimum of 65% marks in Science and 60% in Social Science.
• The applicant should not be more than 40 years of age.
• The candidate should be enrolled in an MPhil degree which leads to a PhD at a UK university.

• Students willing to study in New Zealand can apply.
• The applicant should have scored a minimum of 65% marks in undergraduate/ postgraduate courses.

• For the students at the graduation level, the scholarship amount is INR 10,000 per annum.
• For the student at the postgraduation level, the scholarship amount is INR 20,000 per annum.
• For the student pursuing a five-year professional course, the scholarship amount is INR 20,000 per annum in the 4th and 5th years respectively.

The interested and eligible candidate can apply between Between July and October

• As per the guideline, academic fees of up to INR 30,000 per annum will be paid to the institution.
• The charges for maintenance of INR 1,00,000 will be paid in two equal installments.

The student can apply for an NSIGSE scholarship between the months of August and October

• INR 70,000 per month for the first and second years of pursuing the course.
• INR 75,000 per month will be given for the third year of the course.
• In the fourth and fifth year of study, INR 80,000 per month will be given.
• Also, an additional research grant of INR 2 Lakh per annum for 5 years will be given

• INR 30,000 tuition fee or actual (whichever is lesser).
• Incidental charges of INR 2000 per month for ten months every year

• INR 30,000 tuition fee or actual (whichever is lesser).
• Incidental charges of INR 2000 per month for ten months every year

• A stipend of 1065-1306 British Pounds per month.
• Airfare, and tuition fees.
• Clothing allowance, thesis grant, study travel grant.
• Child allowance (if applicable)
