Vet Varsity NCC Cadets Conduct Mock Drills of War Time - The cadets of 1 Pb R&V SQN NCC, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana demonstrated discipline, courage, and strategic coordination during a meticulously organized mock drill at the unit premises of the University. The exercise was aimed at preparing the cadets for potential national emergencies and enhancing their tactical skills under simulated combat conditions. The mock drill showcased various wartime scenarios including shelter management, first aid under fire, evacuation of injured persons, and coordinated responses to simulated attacks. Dr. J.P.S. Group Commander Visits NCC Unit of Vet Varsity - Brig. P.S. Cheema, SM, VSM, Group Commander of Ludhiana Group of National Cadet Corps (NCC) visited 1 Pb R & V SQN NCC Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) Ludhiana. Col. A Shrinivas Rao, Officer Commanding of 1 Pb R & V Sqn, NCC welcomed him and introduced him to the staff of the Unit. Brig. Cheema inspected the horse stables, training area, and functioning of the NCC Unit and praised the proper maintenance and upkeep of the Unit. He lauded the excellent efforts and support of the Varsity to the NCC Unit and was pleased to know that veterinary graduates undergo compulsory NCC training for the first three years of their degree. He interacted with the cadets, Associate NCC Officers, Permanent Instructional Staff, and Unit staff, motivating them to train the cadets to excel in every field and contribute to nation-building. He emphasized the importance of discipline and physical fitness in daily life. Brig. Cheema also met Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor of the Varsity, who highlighted the students' achievements at the Republic Day Camp, where the Unit has a history of excellence in equestrian events. Vet Varsity Celebrates World Veterinary Day-2025 - World Veterinary Day (WVD) was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana at the Multispecialty Veterinary Hospital. This year’s theme, 'Animal Health Takes a Team,' emphasized the collaborative efforts required to ensure animal health and well-being. On this occasion, the hospital organized an anti-rabies vaccination and deworming camp for the animals. Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor emphasized that WVD is celebrated globally to highlight the importance of teamwork in animal health. He stressed that safeguarding animal health is a collective effort involving veterinarians, pet owners, industries, and communities, all working together to ensure a healthier and safer future for all. Dr. S. S. Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science inaugurated the camp. Dr. J. Mohindroo, Director of Clinics educated the pet owners regarding the importance of proper vaccination and deworming for keeping their pets safe and healthy from serious and life-threatening diseases. Calcium supplements, dewormers, and other feed supplements were also distributed free of cost to the pet owners. The pet parents were also given consultancy regarding various queries. For the B.V.Sc. & A.H programme, a minimum of 50% marks (47.5% for reserved category candidates) in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised Board/ University or Council of Boards of School Education in India, is required. You must also be able to secure equal to or more than the NEET UG 2023 cut off marks as per the category, to be considered for admission to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary And Animal Sciences University.
