Accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC, Satyawati College was established in 1972 and is a constituent college of University of Delhi. Apart from serving as a center for SOL and IGNOU, the college has signed 86 MoUs for implementing faculty exchange, student exchange, internship, field trips, on-the-job training, research, and other academic activities during the last five years, as per its Self Study Report 2023.
At present, the college offers 11 undergraduate programs in Commerce, Economics, English, Environmental Studies, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Physical Education, Sanskrit, and Urdu, along with 1 postgraduate program, MA Political Science. In an attempt to provide students with overall development, Satyawati College claims to have numerous centers like the Family Counseling Center (FCC), National Cadet Corps(NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC), and other societies.
The college, nestled in close proximity to the North Campus at Ashok Vihar, is spread across 10 acres of land and provides its students with facilities such as classrooms, lecture theaters, computer and environmental studies laboratories, a library, an auditorium, a seminar hall, a sports complex with a gym, medical room, girls common, and utility rooms, along with disabled-friendly corridors and round-the-clock CCTV patrolling within its Wi-Fi-enabled campus.
Applauding the college's effort to provide its students with the best, there are certain areas where the college needs to relook. Talking about the disadvantages, the college offers only one postgraduate course, lacks permanent faculty, and does not provide hostel facilities for girls. Here's a comprehensive review and final assessment for those considering it.

Our Take:
Satyawati College has found its place as one of the top 200 colleges in India in the NIRF Rankings 2023. It has been successful in maintaining its position within the rank band of 151-200 both in 2022 and 2023. However, when compared with the constituent colleges of DU, 32 such colleges were ranked in the top 100 in the NIRF Rankings 2023, under the 'College' category. It is apparent that Satyawati Colleges is behind in this aspect and has room for improvement to be on par with its peer colleges.

Out of 133 sanctioned posts, Satyawati College's faculty count is 132, which is commendable. However, as per Self Study Report 2023, all of them are assistant professors. The student-faculty ratio stands at 1:33, which is acceptable. Students have also affirmed the same. Administration-wise, Satyawati College has a total of 37 non-teaching staff to help with its clerical and other related works.
Our Take:
The college claims that there is no permanent teaching faculty, which signifies that the faculty keeps changing from time to time. This not only hampers the quality of teaching but also makes it difficult for students to adjust to the teaching methods. The lack of permanent faculty members also made the news. The news stated, "....approximately 70-80% of experienced teachers, some serving for up to 20 years, have been displaced."
Here is a snippet of the same:

Another news surfaced where the principal of Satyawati Evening College was accused of being involved in allegations related to roster, appointment, and administrative irregularities and was sent on leave.
Source: Hindustan Times
Students have opined that the administrative processes are not properly aligned. Furthermore, they added that the processes are not digitized, which causes a chaotic scenario among students, especially at the time of collecting degree certificates.
Located in Ashok Vihar, Phase III, New Delhi, Satwayati College is well-connected by metro lines. The closest metro station is Kanhaiya Nagar (red line) which is at a distance of 2.7 km from the college premises.
Our Take:
Considering the distance between the metro station and the college, it will take around 8-10 minutes. Also, autorickshaws and cab facilities are readily available in New Delhi. Therefore, we conclude that the college location is convenient for those travelling in the metro.
Satyawati College provides much-needed exposure to its students. The academic curriculum is also apt for students with the implementation of the Choice-Based Credit System(CBCS) and Learning Outcomes-Based Curriculum Framework (LOCF).
However, there are a few issues that are highlighted by the students that need to be addressed:
